When Will the Casinos Reopen?

Rascal the point about risk combined with the fact that in normal times seniors and retirees are filling more than their share of seats at the slots, means a stretched out dry spell for casinos.

I don't see casinos opening here in Michigan any time soon. With all the virus in the Detroit area, our MI government will not let northern county's open there casinos and keep Detroit closed as they know Detroit people will drive north since they are all on layoff from the auto plants. Spread of the virus is at the top of the list here.

They'll be the last places to open down here.

Unless the Indian Casinos try the Sovereign Nation thing. In Michigan lot's of pressure on the Gov. because of restrictions that did not make sense. Gov.Whitless was too busy playing politics to use her head to decide the scope of the shutdown.

To all that are advocating/politicing/pushing/prodding/protesting/bullying/whatever for the shutdown to end: I would respectfully and seriously suggest that you rethink that.

I would rather be dead serious about this than seriously dead about this.

World news tonight on ABC....airborne transmission at a distance of fifteen feet in a restaurant due to the design of their ventilation system in China. The original party and the mechanism that infected people 600 miles from their home in Wuhan in January in that restaurant has been studied since then. I don’t know how to attach the link. Should be easy to find. Bottom line is that is not good news on how easily this is transmitted.

Totally agree TED.
I have stated before that i do not support protesters advocating throwing things wide open.
My comment on our Gov. here in MI. involves some restrictions that do not make sense.
For example, lawn care people who can come and do their job with no human interaction at all. Rowboats are OK but no motors. Travel to my cabin up-north not allowed.
I support 95% of the mitigation restrictions. But some common sense please!

Generally agree with both of you, however, I am thinking that with my trips to Borgata in Janurary thru March of this year and with all the people I interacted with over that time, without masks etc. that would be when I was most exposed to the virus. Haven't been tested, so who knows, maybe I'm one of the people that had it, but didn't know it.

Like Car I was weekly visitor to AC during November and December, My daughter-in-law who is Chinese told me something was amiss during Xmas Eve Dinner and was already stockpiling goods for what she said was coming. I was sick for 4 week beginning of the year virtually all of January. A cough that was absolutely relentless and extremely hard to breathe. No fever or body aches. Was diagnosed as a viral infection ( negative for flu ) given a Z Pack, cough pills, strong liquid cough medicine and prednisone. My wife sequestered me in my man cave and was not allowed out for 2 weeks 😂. Firmly believe I had this evil disease and lived to talk about it. Waiting for the anti body test. I will return to AC when it opens. DB sends his best to everyone.
