10-Play Double Double Bonus for beginners
There is probably a thousand different views on this, however here is mine. First things first, as with all "bonus" games, including DDB, most of all hands dealt are going to be crap. I would even go as far as saying around 90%. This includes a dealt paying pair that will stay the same on the draw. Not saying that a good deal can't happen, I have had many, but again in reality, this is to be expected. I have had many dealt quads on 10-play, and I have also played 10-play 9/6 DDB and went over 2 hours without hitting a quad. Just the other night I was playing 10-play nickels at Suncoast and played over 2500 hands collectively without hitting one quad and I asked the slot attendant jokingly if they recently done a software update on these machines because nothing is hitting, and she said "not that I'm aware of, not since midnight anwyay." About 2 minutes later I was dealt 22A22. Funny how that works!!!! Anyways, if you can go into it with an entertainment value attitude and not trying to get rich attitude, this will keep you from kicking the machine 1 hour in and being escorted out of the casino in handcuffs... If you can find a 9/6 DDB game in any denomination, play those. 9/6 isn't available in all areas, so with that said, with all pay tables, never toss a dealt paying hand unless you are dealt a full house with 3 Aces or 4 to a royal. Once you get comfortable with this and think you got this game down, then there are tons of math-related strategies that will make this game more fun... I mean challenging... or aggravating..... you know what I mean.Happy Fishing!!!!!

2500 rounds on a 10 play for 25,000 hands is really highly unusual for a quad drought that occurs in about 1 in 420 something hands. The 8000 credit dealt 22A22 might not likely have recouped most of your losses that day.
I do not primarily play DDB, but if I do it will be single line 9/6 DDB since most multiline variants I find are 9/5 DDB, but if I am in Vegas or Reno, I will definitely enjoy 9/6 DDB Aces and Faces. I do know a few places where to find 9/6 multi line in Vegas.
9/5 DDB is more difficult to play perfectly than 9/6 DDB. Even so, the strategy that leads the player to hitting quads are similar. I just think you had an awful awful day of playing Sea Lion and the paytable was not much of a factor. Hope the next time you play will have large amount of quads.

If I would have went 25,000 hands without hitting a quad, I might have tried to get FAA on speed dial I did end up $215 ahead that day, so no loss, but over the last few days I really got my ass handed to me by the VP Gods, so I need to take a little break for awhile and just play out my free play for this month and get my free buffet comps and all that good stuff. It just goes with the flow. You hit some, you give it all back!

Aug 1st last year. Dollar spin poker dealt quad deuces with the ace on bonus deuces wild on a pot shot. Good for 18k and will most likely never be repeated. Same 24 hour period dealt royal on DDS quarter machine with lots of quarters bet. Also good for 18k. Pics posted some months ago. One in a million event. This reply meant for BR's multi hand thread.

Thanks for the clarification. 2500 quadless hands on DDB is still possible time to time, but when it happens, the bankroll takes a big hurt. I only played single line DDB $1 a couple of years ago and even a 1600 quadless streak across two visits created a $1800 drop in bankroll. You do have the take the good with the bad as you've stated, to keep those free food comps going.
It is vital for DDB players or any other high variance game players to amass bankroll regardless if they go on a hot streak. Days like these are very possible and having the bankroll retain from the good winning days are needed as a cushion to the blow.
