Nice Mother's Day then Early Father's Day present!

     As wacky and frustrating as cold streaks can be for all of us, I was able to find on Mother's Day one of those very rare can do nothing wrong hot streaks. The Mrs. and I headed up to Mohegan Sun for a very nice Mother's Day brunch and gift and decided to play just a bit before heading home since mom had an early school day on Monday. I decided to limit myself to playing just a couple of 20's on nickels since I didn't want to get stuck and hammered with losses playing heavy for just the half hour or so we would be playing before heading home. Well the nickel deuces wild game ate one of my twenties pretty fast but after I slipped in the second one, in just a few seconds up popped 4 deuces after tossing a junk hand. Ok so a thousand nickels doesn't sound like much and it really isn't but I was happy with the fifty bucks I pulled out of the machine.
    I decided to play just a ten dollar bill around the other side of the turtle dome which is quarters and put the rest of the money back in my pocket making me even if I lost the ten. For some reason and don't ask me why, I decided to play on the quarter game a few hands of joker kings with 5 quarters at a time. The paytable is good over there and the Royal does pay 940 for 1 instead of 800 which is nice too. Anyway, on the fifth hand I played, I was dealt a pair of 5's. Just daydreaming and ready to leave after a couple more hands I hold the fives and up pops the other two fives and the joker. Wow, just a few hands on this quarter machine and now I'm good for a thousand quarters.
     I got a phone call from the Mrs who was playing a bit herself in the Earth casino and poking around in the mall a bit that she was ready to head home. I cashed out the 250 bucks and now was a very happy camper for a change.
     I started to head to the mall to meet up with mom ( the Mrs. ) and passed by the bar noticing that one of my favorite end machines was open which it rarely is. I stopped for a moment and after thanking the bartender for his immediate attention but waving him off, I decided to just play 5 hands on a dollar Joker Kings game at 8 bucks a hand. That would still leave me with 200 bucks in my pocket that I didn't have before and besides the Mrs. was waiting for me and I didn't want to keep her waiting especially on Mother's Day.
     The very first hand gave me 4 of a kind, the third hand a full house and on the 4th hand I was dealt 3 to a Royal which is always nice, but didn't excite me that much. I held the 3 high diamonds and beyond my wildest expectations drew the Royal for a $ 7,520 dollar hand pay. Absolutely stunned and of course happy, I gave the Mrs. a quick call and told her my machine was out of paper, but I would be there in 5 or ten minutes at most. I guess she wandered back into the store and when I showed up with the cash, and told her I was about to make her Mother's Day just a bit nicer, her frown for my being a bit late quickly disappeared and I caught just a bit of a smile from her as we headed for the door coffee and tea in hand and never looking back at least for today into the wacky world of the casino.
