Allow me a brief interjection that back in Sep 2015 I made a decision to share my part-time income playing video poker including all the successes and mistakes, pluses and minuses I made, and anything else and simply called it "my journey in video poker." I put it in rec play because being a video poker log/journey I didn't know quite where to place it best since it didn't neatly fit in any category. Having said that, it has by far the most views of any thread on videopoker forum and proud of that (and always advocated 5 coin play, but never lambasted the single coin players).
At any rate, I'm excited to see posts and discussions from real full time vp pros and always up to learn something new besides the ad hominem side of things.
But please don't lump all recreational players and postings as those who advocate flawed systems or strategies. It's a larger umbrella than that.
Cheers

You play mathematically sound strategy, it should be moved to the Video Poker strategy. Like OneNickelMiracle said, most people play Video Poker as a recreation, but some people like to come up with excuses why they will not play the best approach possible even though good advice is frequently given to them.

FP is not permitted to post in this section. Additionally, people should not reference him directly in this section as it would be unfair for him to be unable to reply, so such posts will also be removed in the future.

Can you explain once and for all the reason FP is allowed to make outrageous or sometimes even derogatory comments/references about Mr. Dancer?

Seems to me "my journey in video poker" would best fit in Video Poker Stories.

Now BWF keeps starting thread after thread trying to start arguments --- and he's very successful at this.

Bob Dancer
Please believe me. I am not trying to start arguments. I’m new to the forum. I am just learning and trying to answer critics of my statements.   I mean no harm. If someone questions my motives, sincerity, etc, of course I will respond. I am learning the etiquette of this forum and I will try and limit my posts/responses.

I very much enjoyed your reply telling me how you made over 2 million dollars one year.

I also have posted a question for you or anyone else about on the Video Poker random generator RNG in the Video Poker Strategy section of the forum.

I don't really care where you post, as long as you keep doing it.

Have you removed any of my posts? If so, please tell me why.

I seemed to have created a firestorm by simply showing mathematically that for the small time recreational player (which I am quite sure represents the vast majority of casino video poker players) playing max coins may be impractical. In order to play a 9/6 video poker machine that pays a 99.54% return, in my area you would have to play $5.00 a hand.   That is much too expensive for most players. I simply showed that in some cases (for the small bettor) it is better to play 1 quarter on an 8/6 machine that 5 coins (max) on a 7/5 nickel machine. If my math is wrong show me.

I frankly was surprised at the negative response that I got from some of the forum’s players. Some of it was pretty nasty. I tried not to respond in kind, but maybe I should not have responded at all.

Being new to the forum I didn’t know where to post my conclusions.   I just wanted to post my mathematical findings and see what people thought. Were my postings in the wrong section? Should I have put them in the “Recreational Play” section?

As I messaged Bob Dancer, whom I greatly respect, I mean no harm.

Just a fairly quick comment on single coin play. As many know from my posts, at least at my casino Mohegan Sun, there are a couple of machines that pay the correct amount for the Royal for bet 1. So far I have found this to be limited to a few of the machines that have a spin poker option. Other casinos may offer this as well, but players may not even be aware of it. Quite often I will play this dollar machine which offers me on the Bonus Deuces wild game and other games 800 for bet 1. Sometimes I just play the center line, but actually prefer to play 3 lines so I don't have to see the Royal appear right in front of me on a line that I don't have. It also gives me a better chance at hitting quad deuces or the Royal in my session just because more hands are played in the course of that session. The long time return on that game is just shy of 99% and I am actually doing quite well on it. Unfortunately, it only pays status or tier points and not the points you can spend, but I don't worry about that since at Mohegan Sun you have to cycle through just shy of 500 bucks in a point paying machine to earn one point that you can spend. Any machines at this casino that do pay points that you can spend have poor pay tables usually in the 95-97% range. Maybe other vp players on this site should for the heck of it scout out their casinos to see if they might stumble accross a similar machine to the one I play.
