Why the RF Bonus?

RF feels like just a rumor these days. Even with the lovely pay AC tables, I cannot justify the max expenditure for that bonus. I'm usually two or three coining my way along on sub max. Just grin and bear the $125 if it ever happens. In the meantime, I just rescale the magnitude of my won-loss. I must modify my post RF ocean sprint goal to FP quad. If I wait for the RF, I'll be foiled by global warming.

I play max coin on positive vp games, three exceptions are jacks or better, nsud deuces, and bonus poker, which are all pretty close to positive and with the comps and points are break even or slightly positive anyway....
However, there is a price to pay...
My wins are significant, but my losses are significant too. It's about the tolerance level, bankroll, and so forth.
My last two sessions combined are a $950 loss...however, my three sessions before that was a $1,645 gain...as posted on my thread my journey in video poker. Do I wish I was betting single coin on those losses? Of course. But of course, we don't know when it's a winning or
Losing session. To me, single coin is less risk, less reward....but makes more and more sense as the pay table worsens or bankroll tightens. The Royal is rare enough I think that it's almost a non-factor, but they do hit from time to time and I'm sure if one pops betting single coin or less than 5, it smarts a bit.

All I have ever tried to do on this forum is to urge players to consider their losses as well as their wins.    If I wrote a book entitled "How I Lost Two Million Dollars Playing VP" or "Video Poker for Losers", would anyone buy it?   As a real estate investor, I see this all the time.   The list of people selling "Get Rich Flipping Real Estate" programs is a long one.  One or two of them may be applicable to my local market conditions, most are not.  I'm not calling out anyone on this forum.  I'm asking players to become more informed and to learn by personal experience what works for them.  You don't have to jump into a pool of sharks just to learn to swim.

Even if you managed to publish such a book, Dancer would buy out the entire print run. I'm fed up with the losing. Within an hour, I usually regret the trip decision and have an ATM side trip waiting. I also quit the quarter progressive. Those must be the tightest machines in the building.

[/quote]I don't think that's entirely fair to Mr. Dancer.  He does not concern himself with players like me who play only negative games.  The problem comes when players only read the parts of his strategy they like and ignore the rest.   The casinos love this.  In fact, they are counting on it.  You do not need to be a victim.  You will pay to play, but you can control how much you do.You are not alone in your current negative feelings for VP.  I have been in a royal slump this entire year.  I'm not a big believer in grinding it out hoping VP math will change my luck.   What's helped me has been my slot play.   I play slots $20 at a time.  I make max bets and I walk on any decent jackpot.  Lately, I've been on a great winning streak which has offset my losses on VP.  I'm grateful that anything's working.  I don't blame VP or anyone else for my losses, it's just part of the game.

Yeah. Just sounded like a good zinger. I only walk on a quad or above, which means a lot of giving back and miserable trips.
