new casino in Southwest Washington

Post by zama »

We have a new casino in Washington, the ILANI Casino near Vancouver, however they don't have much in the way of video poker, just the low return 8/5 machine which rarely pays much. They also don't have any keno machines.

Are you sure they are real video poker machines, not VLTs?

Yes, Washington state is not allowed to offer "Vegas Style" video poker. It's a glorified slot machine. I strongly suggest not playing those machines.

I think that used to be the case everywhere in WA, however I think there are exceptions and the following article seems to indicate that Ilani offers Class 3 gaming:

But Washington's electronic scratch-off system is still Class III as far as the Federal government is concerned. And that is the only electronic gaming method authorized in their Class III compact. So video poker still behaves as glorified slot machines there. So dumb, imo.
