Quad Odds

Post by FAA »

What are the odds of a dealt quad in JOB? This fine gift came last week. I was so thrilled that I cashed out and ran out.

Sometimes you do much better than the odds predict. I played 600 hands of JOB on a machine last week and had 3 quads. Two were dealt. Anything can happen. I am still waiting for a dealt royal.

Thanks, RF. Wait, what an incredible session. I've had machines dish out full houses like they were going out of style. But never on the quad level like that. Then again, I usually bail after the first! I think the dealt quad happened two or three years ago. Really helped to get it within the first ten hands.

The odds of dealt natural quads, where the 5th card doesn't matter, is the same no matter what game you play.

I've had back to back dealt quads but they happened about 20 minutes apart on different machines, not that that matters.

Not exactly. This would be a true statement if you limited the discussion to 52-card games that are played "normally." In 53-card games, the numbers are different. There are games like Pick'Em Poker which use 52 cards but have a restricted choice and so the odds are quite different. There are a variety of other ways that games can be not "normal."

Very true Bob. I was specifically getting at standard 52 card games and not gimmick games with extra cards. Yes, I consider joker poker, pick em, etc., as gimmick games.

Did you actually run? I'd be afraid of security thinking I'm up to something. My personal casino speed limit is very low.
