No, because you gave up the chance to hit 4 aces which will pay 2,000 credits with a kicker.

Shadowman, did you ever finish writing your program to analyze DDB Ultimate X?

As this is our weekly contest, I thought it apropos to re-engage this conversation.

I have not been able to find a full analysis of UX yet.

Obviously, the near-optimal strategy would include 5 or 6 different strategy cards.

My suggestion is this: is there value to a 2 strategy card system?
Based on my limited understanding, this is what I've come up with:

Average Multiplier < 4 -> https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-po ... ble-bonus/

Average Multiplier >= 4 -> https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-po ... bonus/9-6/

This is how I've been playing. Am I way off?

Yes you are way off.If you're going to pick one strategy to use for 9-6 DDB Ten Play UX, use the one for 10-7 Double Bonus.The reason you use this one is 10-7 DB pays 5-for-1 for the straight and 7-for-1 for the flush, so from 44567 you hold 4567 and from a 'AK7' Q6 you hold 'AK7'. This approximately compensates for the 8x multiplier and the 10x multiplier. And for a hand like AA884, the correct play in the UX version is AA88, NOT AA.FWIW, I'm teaching the class this week, Tuesday, noon, South Point casino in Las Vegas.The Wizard of Odds website has a decent one-strategy-fits-all strategy for this game.
