Just back from a Vegas trip and hit 2 royals in the same day at Paris on 12-09 which was 1st day of trip.
First time I've ever hit 2 in a day in - both at .50 for $2000 each. What makes this even more odd is I just checked my payout tickets and noticed they were both at the same time 11:10, once was a.m. and the other was p.m.
Good Lord willing, I know what I'll be doing at those times on that date next year! Aren't all gamblers supersticious

Hey 7come11! NICE wins! Which VP game were you playing at Paris to hit the two royals? Same machine both times? Hope you managed to return home with it all! LOL. I hit two royals at Greektown a half hour apart on the same machine and ditto Flamingo at Laughlin, now named Aquarius. Felt great! Superstitious maybe, but I see COMPULSIVE as more of a common denominator for VP players. PLUS, my ESP works better some days than at other times. Anyone else get positive vibes just before a royal or big hit or even selecting card for double up? It's a GIFT! VIDEOPOKER has a valid point re VP pay schedules at Paris. However, on my last visit to Paris, I hit a royal DW $1 machine for $4000 the second day to compensate first day loses. We lived luxuriously for the rest of that trip on that win. I hope for a repeat when we stay at Paris SOON!

Thanks Marie - it was quite exciting and congrats 2 you as well on the $4000 DW - yeah, $4000 can really make a trip last.
The 2nd hit was 2 machines to the right of the 1st hit. Had over $100 in it after the payoff, so bumped it to $1 and hit 4 A's for another $800! Um, well yes, I did give some back but left Vegas up $3000 for the trip. Considering it was a 5 day trip and I played tables quite often too I had plenty of fun and no complaints at all.
You know, you are right - with VP I do feel more compulsive than supersticous. I play craps quite a bit as well, that's where you find tons of superstitions. Dice goes off the table or a switch of the stick person will prompt a lot of players and they'll turn all bets off for 1 roll. Point is a 5, hald the players will bet on a hard 10...you get the idea, there are tons more.
VP thinking seems to go more like "I got a couple good hits, I'm sure to get more". Really never met anyone say when I hit this hand, this other hand will usually follow.
How about it, anyone have superstisions on VP?
Regarding payout at Paris, it's standard for strip on DDB (8-5)
Good luck to you on your visit to Paris, I hadn't played a whole lot there on past trips, but the more I stayed, the more I liked the casino.

101 royal flushes! Inspiring story! Click on frugalfridays (Jean Scott's column, Dec 13 2007 for Brad's incredible dealt royal on $.25, 100 play at Palms! $ 101, 000.! Glad someone can afford to play $125 per hand. Fear of a dry spell would deter me!

$125.00 is about 1/5 of my gaming supply for a visit(yes I'm a cheapskate) but it suffices to supply me with enough entertainment and F and B for a weekend. I'm happy to break even so any jackpot is a bonus! Jean and Brad have been playing much longer with a bigger bankroll.

Marie I saw that story on frugalfridays as well! Imagine having that size bankroll to be able to play at $125 a pull!
