Thanks again to all for taking the time to respond.

We can play in the low 400's re: HPH but it seems we are losing about $30/hr/player at $1.25. Maybe we just haven't put in enough play time to get the decent hits.

We have adequate resources to boost our play to $5/hand to push the comps. and we can surely play a low variance game such as BP but we are going to need a decent bankroll to prevent getting out before the hits. Just not sure it's worth it spiritually, financially, psychologically or otherwise.

I actually think we need to play on one card, get to the next comps. level and see what the casino will bring to the table. Maybe.

More likely answer is you are missing pairs, or sometimes straight or flush possibilities.

Keep this in mind as well.  In these games the royal flush is worth 1-2% of your profit.  The hourly profit/loss calculations given here are based on a royal every 40,000 hands or so.  It is common in VP to lose more than the hourly calculations indicate, then catch back up when you hit a royal.   That is why you need a bankroll large enough to last through the slow times.  The 40,000 hand figure is a long term average.   Hit more royals than you are entitled to and you will be a winner.  Hit less and you will be a loser.  Over a long period of time the royal frequency will come closer to that number.Playing the best games accurately, taking advantage of comps and offers and managing your money well will earn you all the advantages you are entitled to.  Without them, you are adding to your disadvantage

Thanks all for your timely responses. And I will make sure that all suggestions are put in place immediately.

And just to set the record straight, all the 'comps' that were alluded to a few posts ago were earned on slot play; so yeah, it looks like the comps from pure VP will definitely suck. But with all the above in place and several months of play maybe the outlook will be brighter.

And we will definitely slow down our play a bit and make sure we are playing as perfectly as possible.
