This game is fun but it seems like the strategy is different. I mean, you only have one decision to make each hand and that's also why I like to play it a short time but wouldn't site there a long period of time most likely. Is this a game you can really win at or is it better to play a more normal single or multiple hand "draw" game once you are very good?I know the knowledge is very similar to other games but it doesn't seem like the same rules would always apply when it comes to smart betting.Anyone play this game a lot (or a little) that can offer some thoughts? Thanks!!!!

It's definitely a more simplified game but that's what some people love about it. There's less to think about but it does cause you to think about the game in a little different way (and can be a good learning tool for that reason). I prefer the more "traditional" games.

There's a really cool game coming soon called Wild Thing Poker where 3's, 5's, and 7's are wild at three different betting stages.
You bet 5 coins, get thre cards and have a pay table for that stud hand and 3's are wild. Then you can bet 5 more coins if you want to go on and 5's are wild in the 2nd 5 card stud hand. Finally, you can bet 5 more coins and 7's are wild in that 7 card stud hand.
If you get a 5 or 7 in your first three cards, you pretty much always want to move on. It is a cool mixture of "stud" poker with a changing wild card feature.

I to love Double Down as well as Pick-a-pair poker, however; they are very much a house game. These games don't give you much choice. The cards are already picked and there is nothing you can do about it.
Re: DDD-you will go through many a loosing streak, then all of a sudden it goes through a winning streak and you don't know when its coming so you have to more or less test you skills on it and when you start to win keep playing and keep betting because you will win.
When it goes back to the loosing streak, drop you bet and wait.
And yes, I wouldn't play either for a long time.

My husband and I just played it at the Taj. They dont have many machines-I counted 7!! Saturday nite we did great! we each got around 3 4OAK's each in the Joker Poker version for 800 quarters each hit! Of course in between we gave back. I would say we got up ahead around $400. Sunday morning we thought we would duplicate this winning session, but it was not to be. After investing $200 without any decent hits we got up. Later in the morning we tried again and got one 800 coin hit and after putting 1/2 back in we got up! Its a very addicting game!

I'm a fan of the Triple Play DD Stud ---- I've done v. well but it can be very addicting.
There is very little strategy to employ - really just figuring the odds of being dealt the 5th needed card for a payoff and whether it's worth the additional risk. If you can get a good hit early on you're golden, otherwise you play to recoup - which can be done but it requires patience. The machines really seem to have cycles...and when they're cold, they're very cold. When I want to maximize the time on a machine I stick with other multi hand games. (I usually play DDB or Deuces on Stud).
