Re: Recreational Forum Policies

It's the only time I've tried to notify a moderator about a post, and then found out there is no easy way to do this.

Yeah a report or flag button could be helpful. Also for the occasional spam posts that pop up here too.

I'd like to see an up or down vote button as well.

The purpose of the Recreational Play forum is to allow a place for discussion for those who are concerned with playing video poker for entertainment only, without as much concern for statistically correct holds or advantage play.

Some may favor this approach, others may be opposed to it, which is why there are different areas for different discussions and different types of players.

As such, in addition to the Forum Rules which apply to all areas, the policies going forward for the Recreational Play area will be as follows.

- Anyone is welcome to post in this forum (unless they lose that privilege at the Moderator's discretion)

- The primary purpose of the forum is to discuss Recreational Play where strong pay tables may not be available, and short term results may hold higher value to the player than long-term profitability

- If you do not consider yourself a player who fits the above "Recreational" description, please ensure that your posts in this area are not purely critical, but helpful to those who might be reading them.

- Playing recreationally may mean a player is less concerned about statistics, but that doesn't change the mathematics of the game. As such, in the event there are inaccuracies in a message, correction of inaccurate information is certainly allowed as it would be helpful to those reading the post in the future.

- If providing helpful advice, be sure you clearly state/quote both the error your are correcting as well as offering the proposed solution, rather than simply telling someone they are wrong.
Example: "You are so dumb that you think Players Club points are redeemable for toilet paper" is neither 1) respectful 2) helpful

An acceptable alternative would be: "Kind sir, I must point out that Players Club points are only available for toilet paper redemption if the casino specifically notes that as a redemption type and I am unaware of any such promotions at this time. Can you please provide the details of this promotion?"

If you are unable to participate using the above guidelines, my suggestion would be to simply stick to other forum areas.

Violating the above policies or simply "trolling" the forum where you offer little but criticism will not be allowed and violators will be subject to a warning and/or suspension from all forum privileges at the moderator's discretion.

These policies are subject to change with or without notice, retroactively, futureactively or inactively, regardless of the phase of the moon.

Thanks for your attention to the policies, which will hopefully make the forum a better place of discussion for everyone.
Nice try Webman. Unfortunately not everyone is adhering to the state policies.

Indeed. Rather simply, I think there is someone who should no longer post in the Recreational forum and I will take care of that.
