Broke my own prior record

Post by olds442jetaway »

Crazy things in the wacky world of vp never cease to amaze me. I returned from a Mohegan Sun trip late this afternoon that started Monday evening. After taking a nice beating on my favorite 98.8 Bonus Deuces Wild game playing dollars, I limped off tail between my legs to a quarter machine in another part of the casino. I made just a quick side trip on the way there for a really good burger and brew.
There are just 3 99 percent machines in that immediate area. All were empty as this was well after midnight. I played the first one on the end of the row and right away things seemed different. This was a regular Airport Deuces game. Lots of 4 of a kinds that kept me playing with the initial hundred dollar bill 5 coins at a time. Tossed a junk hand and the draw presented 4 deuces good for 250 bucks. Hmmmm....great...got more than a third of the lost dollars back. I slid over to the next machine. Played the same game. Ten minutes later...bang..4 deuces again. Another 250 bucks. Wow..now down only a hundred bucks. I decided to play this machine another few minutes but at the 50 cent level. Just a few minutes later, I held a single deuce. Bang again 4 deuces again but this time it was good for 500 bucks. I slid over to the third and last 99 percent game in that row. It went back and forth for a couple of hours. I was getting tired. I had all of my money back and then some. I decided to give it just ten more minutes or so. Then right after I made that decision, the final and completely unexpected final 4 deuces. This time they were dealt and good for another 250 bucks.
Off to bed and as usual, the sun was already up. My eyes were like slits and my legs were stiff a bit from playing so long. I pushed myself to walk it off for 20 minutes. Then that first heavenly sip of a freshly brewed Italian Roast coffee and off to a hot shower and long morning nap.

Nice!   Deuces is such a weird game.  You go forever without a quad deuce then hit one after another.   My wife hit six sets on a two day trip to Miami last year.  She's on a dry spell right now.   We're going back next week for her birthday hoping for a repeat.

Happy Birthday to her. We should have celebrated early at Mohegan, but in hindsight, you were heading south fast with that respiratory stuff. Next trip, we will make sure to have the Mohegan Bakery send up one of their awesome chocolate fudge cakes on the house. It comes on a cart with real linens and silverware and a carnation in a vase. Nice touch. They will do it for special occasions like your other half....or should I say other 2/3rds.

I played one of those same 3 machines last night. Someone had just hit deuces at the fifty cent level and cashed out 500 bucks. I threw caution to the wind and forced myself to really believe the prior hands have nothing to do with the next cards to be dealt. I hit quad deuces for quarters within fifteen minutes on that same machine. That came in handy because I had just lost 300 playing dollar DDS. Talk about streaks...that game has them big time. Anyway, licked my 50 buck wound and turned in early. Had to be on the road early today for a full day with dad at the VA. On the way home I hit a piece of sharp metal and blew a brand new tire on the Saturn. Limped off into the rest area a half mile down the pike and luckily was able to get the donut on. However, it had never been used in 20 years and was flat. Luckily, as everyone should have, I had my ten buck portable air compressor. Could have waited 3 hours for AAA, Chose this route and had to get dad to the VA etc. Worked out ok. Guardian Angel coin in my pocket came through again.
