Wildman....Trying not to overtake your post. Wish I had the smart phone already so I could have posted the dealt deuces I just got next to yours. We get them even a bit less than a Royal long term.

Bummer it didn't show up for dollars, but when hopping around games and denominations, it's bound to happen.

Last Vegas trip, got AAAA2 twice in one night. One was worth $500 (quarter Super DDB) and the other 75 cents (multiline penny deuces). At least one of those was good!

In the past, I played a lot of deuces wild. I also enjoy an occasional switch between quarters and dollars. I have seen what you described many times. You are going along just fine playing quarters. Deuces are coming up all over the place and you are ahead. You switch to dollars and the game dies taking your profits with it. After about a 100 or so of these occurrences, you conclude the game is rigged.

Deuces wild is a very streaky game. I have no idea why, it just seems to be that way. You tend to get long streaks of winning hands followed by long streaks of nothing. It's like the deuces are pulled from the machine. More than once I have had to check to see if the machine switched to another game.

This is completely normal. There was a time when I believed I could capitalize on these streaks. I had some good days using this strategy. Long term, it didn't work any better than flat betting. Assuming the odds are the same, when you switch to dollar play you are just playing bigger. If the games are negative you will eventually lose more than if you stayed with quarters. Comps can affect this result. When I play a lot of dollar hands, my comps and free play increase substantially.

If you are like me and are willing to pay more to experience the thrill of a short term $1,000 quad deuce or a $4,000 royal at the expense of your long term results, I see no problem with switching denominations as long as you are willing to pay the price.

I tried to experience a $4,000 JOB RF. The universe said $250. And you'll give it all back next trip.

Unless you're playing $5 denomination, it's impossible to hit a $4000 royal betting one credit.

One coin on a 5 dollar machine royal is only 1,250.

Whoops! Of course you're right. My excuse would be that I'm simply not used to short coin play - or, too much beer tonight.

No grand revelation. I know all too well. My technique is sliding scale play. Got caught cheap at a buck and SOL.

Some of you may find this entertaining. The main reason I quit playing single coin $5 VP games is my fear of hitting a single coin $5 royal for $1,250. I have hit numerous single coin $5 quad deuces for $1,000, but the embarrassment of have the girl hand me a W2G for a single coin royal would be terrible. I can only imagine the smirk that would be on her face. "Too bad you weren't play max coins!"

With my freewheeling style, -$1,000 on $5 machines. If awesome run, maybe a $25 pot shot quick switch.
