Mt. Airy Lodge opens new casino

Post by valden »

I drove to the Poconos in Pennsylvania (60 minutes from my home) to see the new Casino that opened in mid November. It is not an Indian Casino. It is actually owned by the couple who owned Mt. Airy Lodge for the last 30 years. It is slots only. Had video poker jacks or better 9/6 on some machines.  Has three restaurants, italian, steakhouse, buffet and diner type coffee shop. I liked the casino because it was bright and easy to maneuver. Has a players club. Didn't win big but held my own for four hours. If you live near there, I'd recommend a trip. You can shop for Christmas presents as it's right on rt. 611 near the outlet center. Valerie

I thought I played a 9/6. Maybe I am wrong. How did you like the casino. Where do you live? I live in Sparta, NJ

My Mom lives 5 miles from Mt. Airy Lodge, went a week or two ago and played 9/6 JB in dollar level and higher. Are the video poker machines in PA. true random video poker machines or are they VLT machines that work from a central bingo type computer.

I don't know the answer but I was there again yesterday and I did play a 9/6 job machine. They were in the center to the left of the bar on a bank of machines almost a straight line down center from the buffet. I get a lot of play from the machines. Played bonus boker and hit four of a kind 4 times in less than an hour. Played all different poker games. More play here than any other casino I have been to. However, didn't hit any big hands but was kept busy going up and down.

When I was there on Thanksgiving the players club was not open yet. They said it will open in a couple of weeks. Does anybody know if it`s open yet. If someone goes to Mt. Airy over the holidays, can you check it out. Post a reply
Thank-you,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

It's open, I was there yesterday. I was there before thanksgiving as well and it was open then too, maybe it was just closed on turkey day?

Hit my first straight flush ever, first one in 8 years. Maybe I'll get my first royal in another 40.

From what I've read the VP in PA is true class III random machines. You can always tell a class II machine because it will have something extra to award you wins even if you don't hold the cards correctly. There will also be a description of this special feature in the help text.

I have now been to Mt. Airy three times since November. I went a week ago because after two visits I received a 75.00 bonus comp and a 15.00 slot comp plus 60.00 food voucher and a free room. On the two prior visits I didn't take more than 200.00 with me. Both times I came home with 150.00 and 90.00. I didn't stay longer than four hours each time. I figured it would be a nice evening out. 90 of their money, free dinner and 200.00 of my own money. Lost all but 20.00 but had a great time. I do get lots of play off of the video poker machines.
