Sequential royals are actually a little rarer than 1.01% (1 in 120 or 0.833%) in a game such as the one you were playing where there is no special bonus for getting the cards in order. The Wizard's 1.01% figure is a result of assuming that sequential royals pay 50,000 coins rather than 4000 coins, enticing you go for royals a little more often when you get one, two or sometimes 3 royal cards dealt with perfect placement, when you otherwise might hold a different combination of cards.

For example, if you had a (non-Bonus) Deuces Wild game with a big sequential payout and were dealt 3 to a royal flush like TJQ of hearts in that order in the first 3 positions, followed by either a couple hearts or a couple straight cards like unsuited 98, K9, of AK, a max-EV strategy would ask you to dump the extra two cards completing the flush or straight and try for a Royal Flush, with 50% of the royals ending up sequential.

Without the extra incentive for the sequential royal, max-EV strategy would call for you keeping the pat flush or straight and moving on to the next hand. Of course, some might decide to hold only the 3-Royal anyway; it just wouldn't be the max-EV hold.

77,968,799 to 1 on any particular future dealt hand. If you also want to count the reverse order of AKQJT in addition to TJQKA, the odds become 38,984,399 to 1.

You probably have a few hands to go if you want to complete the cycle and receive dealt sequential royals in hearts, diamonds, and clubs as well. ;)

All my years playing vp, never hit a sequential royal. Last night at the local casino, noticed a $1 single line game with a progressive sequential royal at around $140,000 dollars!

I've never seen one up that high, would be tempting.
