I retired in my fifties. Since then, numerous businessmen and women have asked me to help them market more of their products. If I believed they could benefit from my experience, I worked with them on a consulting basis. Since 2002, much of my work has been in the field of Internet marketing. What does this have to do with video poker?

This website costs a lot of money to produce and maintain. The fees they charge for membership do not come close to paying for the administration, much less the development. I am sure this website is at least partially supported by the gaming industry. It's purpose is to promote video poker. Hopefully, it fills casinos, sells games, pays experts and does whatever it takes to make a profit. Knowingly or not, Bob Dancer is part of that effort.

Claiming that you have a math based strategy that can beat the casinos is marketing. It's harmless as long as people don't take it too seriously. Gambling $25, $50 or more a hand in a slot machine is serious business. There are some people who will try it. Not many can afford to, for long anyway.

What is gained by telling players $10 games are profitable? Is he going to tell us where these games are? Of course not. That's like saying I will sell you the Lost Gold Mine treasure map but you are too stupid to find it. This is the sizzle that sells the steak.

Why is it necessary to discuss playing high stakes video poker games on this forum? There is only one reason, it adds credibility to the marketing. Another marketing tool is the testimonial. Usually this is done by a celebrity or well known person who pitches your product. In this case the celebrity also benefits from the sale of the product. What made him a celebrity? The product did.

Like I have said many times, this marketing plan is pure genius. The only fly in the ointment is that it doesn't work for everyone all the time. A few lucky players attribute their winning to the strategy and become supporters. Some see it as the marketing strategy it is and don't bother. I accept it. I use it to reduce the cost of my visits to the casino. I don't expect it will make me any richer and that's fine with me.
No one talks about playing high stakes video poker here except you when talking about Bob Dancer.
