Sorry to hear about the Monarch. It's always been one of our favorites. I have heard stories from players who had their comps lowered for only playing full pay games. I can't imagine being banned for being too good unless you hit them for $100K three times in one night. Are you sure there wasn't some other reason?

I can't see why they would. We see comped rooms as a major benefit of playing video poker. If we didn't receive this benefit, we wouldn't play nearly as much as we do. A casino is a business. We are their customers. We like what they provide. The casino likes our money. If only one party benefits from this relationship, the other party changes the game. No one beats the casino forever.

It sucks, but they can change the game anytime they like. The only contract we really have and I hope that is honored is that the games will be fair and not rigged.

A few weeks before a trip i get a cashiers check from my bank. make a copy of it and send it to the casino credit department. When i arrive, I give the check to the cashier cage and they open an account for markers. I can access them from the cage or any table game. Never done it on credit.

That's interesting. I could send the Hard Rocks $5-10K and work it out over a number of years. I'm sure they would like that. In my case it would increase my losses substantially. For me, fighting to come home even on a daily basis is a major part of the game. I only take what I am comfortable with losing. At the moment that's about $400 a day.

If I had access to unlimited funds at the touch of a button, I would chase my losses down to zero pretty quickly. This may be a good idea if you are going to play in one place for multiple days. I assume you can ask for your balance in full at the end of each trip?

I know my limitations. I know the games I have to play are long term losers. I also know myself. When I am having a bad day, I tend to do things I regret later. I am much better off staying the course, but I'm not a computer. When I'm out of money, I need to leave.
