First, the bad news! I’ve been fearful (especially since my 8 royals/3days trip) to see my favorite machine closely scrutinized since the weekly report would show the huge payout causing the Slot Director to have it checked. Sure enough when I sat down and began to catch hands I realized my pay tables were no more. My 5kind were paying 60 vs 75 and my DRF were paying 100 instead of 125. So I checked the pay table and sure enough my 99.9% DW and full pay Bonus had been reduced to match the other 97% pay table machines. Mean old GN!!! Bad GN!!!
Usually I check pay table on all the machines I play periodically and in October’18 I found the machine had evidently been given the wrong load set compared to the other machines with 99% return on DW 25-15 and full pay Bonus 8-5 25¢ play. With no minimum limit I could start out small 5-6 hands and increase/decrease hands as play developed. Since then I played this "Diamond Mine" and kept it as a family secret. I’d wait for hours for people to play their max play 2¢ games. Over time Diamond Mine and I had developed a love affair and a relationship of mutual respect. While we sometimes couldn’t get our timing down it had returned my love and play with 21 royals since November on Bonus or DW. My first 4 trips after finding this jewel each brought me a Royal. In addition, I was dealt 4 deuces once, and countless big hands including probably between 60-80 times 4 deuces often with multiples on the same dealt multi-hand, numerous straight flushes, 5 kinds, and multiple DRF for thousands of dollars. ("Elite" status at GN requires $1M/coin in per year for VP and this jewel machine was a godsend.) The best part was that almost every 4RF would hit at least one hand out of as few as 5-6 hands. Good bye!! I’ll miss you and you’ll always be in my memories and dreams DM….So now there is only one other machine in the Lake Charles area that still pays 99.8 on denominations up to 25¢.
The good news was that I still caught 3-4 deuces our first night, then in frustration (knowing that my deuces and bonus were now just peons amongst the 97% returns) I turned to other rarely played games where I could play 10¢ denomination which has the same 97% pay return. (5¢ and 2¢ are even lower 96% range) A dealt straight flush on 35 hands on 10¢ was followed by dealt 8’s on 25 hands which bankrolled the rest of the night. A few other hands including 4 deuces and 5 Aces on 25¢-50¢ All Star DW/DWB led to good night bankroll up.
