The management there probably has to screw themselves into bed each night. The only thing going for them is they post their poor selection on the screen. Ugh!

At the BH/CC casinos here in CO those pays are what you'll typically see for 1-cent and 2-cent play, with the pay tables improving as the denomination goes up.  At the Century casino in CC they've got the $1 bartop DDB at 6/5/4 - that's for straight DDB, no progressive for RF's or quads.  Ouch.  Maybe they figure that drinkers won't notice.

I believe that I have mentioned before, how spoild the casinos are with there take from Slots and are trying to get the same return with VP.

It's been a year since I've been to AmeriStar.  They used to have 9/6 JOB on quarter single line machines, but they pulled that.  They also had All American Poker that was short paid on quads but I think those are gone now.My daughter pulled these numbers from their machines yesterday (Jan 19).  To be concise, she did not check all machines and did not check bar tops.  These numbers are typical of what I recall though.  Yet, one of those nickel machines was where I hit one of my 2 Royals in 2006.  I did go there last year once.  Since then, the only play I've given Missouri has been at Isle of Capri.  North of us is an Indian Casino where I go when I can't make it to Vegas.  They (Golden Eagle) at least has some 98% games and one or two 99%.

Since I can't hit anything on the slots at the Ok. casinos, I was considering the video poker.  I notice in all the forums about the payout percentages. 9/6 video poker. How do you tell on the machine what the payout is.  Explain that  terminology.  Do video poker machines (Game King Indian casino machines) pay out better than the regular Money Bag, Gems & Jewels, Red Ruby, etc. class II Indian casino slots like they have in Ok.

If you eliminate from consideration, the Class II "Bingo" machines that look like VP and speak of only the Class III machines such as most of the Oklahoma Casinos have gone to, then I think I can say that it all depends on those "Pay Tables".If you see a class III multigame machine, select one of the Poker Games from the main menu.  You might see several different versions of "Draw" Poler..."Jack or Better", "Deuces Wild", Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus, Bonus Poker and so forth.  Select one of these games.  You don't have to put money in them to select the game. When selected, You will see a chart occupying about half of the upper half of the screen.  This chart specifies what each paying hand pays per credit wagered.  They are just like the Single Line Poker games available for Free Play here on VideoPoker.com.  Values in the paytables may differ (probably WILL) but the layout is basically the same. With some exceptions, you will hear those who pay attention to the pay tables refer to a game as being 9/6, or 10/7 or something like that.  That reference is to what that game pays First for a Full House and then for a Flush.    Usually, that is enough to identify the game enough to mathematically determine what the Payback or Expected Return is for that pay table.  Generally speaking, the higher those numbers are for a particular game, the better the Expected Return will be.I CYA'd my self in the first sentence because the wild-card games are identified by hands generally higher than the Full House and Flush. As to the Oklahoma machines and their comparison with each other....who knows?  I'm serious!  I do not know what the Expected Return is on any of the Slot Machines.  I don't even know if there is any meaningful way to say that VP is better than Slots or that Slots are better than VP.  Usually, slots have a lesser Expected Return but since that is not declared on the machines as are the Pay Tables on Video Poker, there is no conclusive way of making a statement one way or the other.About the only conclusion you can derive is that at least with Video Poker Machines (NOT Bingo machines that look like VP) you know what your odds are.

I'd recommend a little reading on the subject. Linda Boyd's "The Video Poker Edge" or Jean Scott's "Frugal Gambler" are two of the better books. Also, surf around some of the internet websites like this one soak up as much as you can.

Video poker played with correct strategies significantly outperforms the vast majority of slot machines.
