Republican Governors have killed fifteen million Americans.

Post by billryan »

Sounds crazy, right?
Except it is true. It is estimated that between fifteen and twenty million Americans have died from preventable disease and health issues in states that didn't expand Medicaid under Obama care. The federal government wanted to give the state's the money to insure these people but Republican Governors turned it down. In several cases, they even used tax payers money to defend in court their right to deny their own citizens health insurance. Manga.

Sorry, you're going to have to show that those 15 million people would have lived if they had Medicaid and that they didn't have alternate treatment options at their disposal. There could be a lot of reasons why preventable disease could result in death besides a lack of Medicaid. Are you also saying all 15 million of those people didn't have insurance?

The estimate is 15 million Americans who would have been eligible for expanded Medicaid died from easily preventable or treatable diseases and injuries. Diabetes, high blood pressure, heat disease, skin cancer and a few hundred other diseases. Some might have had some sort of insurance, but they should have had Medicaid.

Bill, the figures you are citing are ridiculous. Based on CDC numbers, the total reported deaths in the US from 2010 (Obamacare was signed into law 3/2010) until 2017, (the last year published) was approximately 24 million nationwide for all causes. Assuming the number in 2018 was 2.86 million (more than any of the previous 8 years), the number is about 27 million. Add on 1.5 million up to now in 2019 you have 28.5 million for total deaths in all states, including those with Democrat Governors, for all causes (auto deaths, terminal illnesses, etc.) and individuals who had insurance of any kind).

And smoking is the leading cause of "easily treatable or preventable deaths" in the US. Lack of medicaid didn't cause that, personal choice did.

I'm guessing the number of deaths that could be directly attributed to a lack of Medicaid access in these states is closer to 15 than 15 million.

Yes, those damn doctors and their stupid statistics. Freakin books who needs them. Why waste money studying causes of death and dumb things like that. So a reasonable assumption to you is that one person a year died from lack of medical coverage while statistics indicate it is over a million per year. Just a big coincidence that the death rate for the state's that haven't expanded Medicaid is higher than the ones that did.

Did you know the average American worker pays $38 dollars a year in taxes towards SNAP, or what is commonly called food stamps. That's about seventy cents per week. The new restrictions will throw about three million people off and save us each a nickel.
Meanwhile Eight hundred and sixty eight dollars of our taxes will go towards corporate subsidies.
I'd like a country where those numbers are reversed. Wouldn't you?

DEMOCRATS and their abortion advocates are responsible for 60 MILLION BABIES KILLED, since 1973.

and, a higher percentage of black babies have been killed, than their overall population percentages, also making them racists.
