If you are guaranteed to lose, why do you play VP?

If you are guaranteed to lose, why do you play VP?

Post by FloridaPhil »

On our travels we see hundreds of video poker machines. The experts tell us they don't play any video poker game unless the odds plus the comps give them an advantage. We are provided with software to assist us in determining if a game is playable by their standards. The experts also tell us if we play net positive games with computer perfect hand strategy and an adequate bankroll, good things will happen. So far, so good.

What if the games you have available plus the comps do not offer a player advantage? What are your options? You can refuse to play like the experts tell you to. You can save your money and play where you have an advantage. You can play anyway and pay the cost.

My question for this forum is "How much are you willing to pay to play video poker?" If video poker is paying you, there is no need to answer this question. How much of a cost would you tolerate before quitting the game? If the game cost you $100 a week, would you quit? How about $500 a week? What if it cost you $1,000 a week but you got to stay in the hotel any day you wanted? Can the casino give you enough free play, food and drinks to pay to play?

I am in the process of deciding if my cost to play video poker is worth what I receive. Depending on my conclusion, I may quit VP altogether. I may play less. I may play only on this website. Will I be happy playing video poker if there is no monetary incentive? Will I miss my weekly trips to the casino? Your feedback will be helpful.

Phil, I don't believe there is anything malicious in your posting. However, this has already been posted. Many times. We have discussed the problem of repetition many times, you have previously been suspended and I have written as detailed a reasoning as I can provide in the past. And I'm afraid you still just don't get it.

Usually when people are banned, it's for intentionally insulting behavior. I don't believe that is the case with you... I think you honestly mean well, and I think it would be unjust to ban you permanently for this sort of thing. However, I do think it's time for a much more lengthy time off of 6 months. I realize that is a long time. It is long enough that the forum will get the break it needs from the repetition (in 6 month intervals, should it be repeated). My hope is that in this time, you will gain some clarity on the reasoning for why you were suspended. The forum will move on, some people will be upset and others will be relieved. You may decide to move on and not come back. That of course is up to you.

At the very least, you will have a lot of new experiences to share, rather than posting the same thing over an over again.

Peace to you, and best of luck in your pursuits.

Suspension end date: Feb 5, 2020.

As with other banned or suspended members, discussion about them will not be permitted (within reason) as they are not here to be able to answer for themselves.
