how is martingale strategy play

Post by susuvp »

I am sorry i am a newbie in playing video poker and I am new to this website. I have tried to read all related messages and i come across "the martingale strategy" but i have not seen how to play in the strategy in detail in the forum. Do any of forum who know the detail of this martingale strategy. I am sorry that i may ask for a repeat what are posted in the past. I do try to look for it for a few days, but i can only find some information on how "FloridaPhil" describe his strategy, nothing on martingale strategy.

Martingale is simple...

Start betting small. If you lose, increase your bet. If you lose again, increase your bet. When you eventually win, you wipe out the losses. That's the theory. The problem of course is when you have a fatal losing streak.

It doesn't work in video poker because you eventually run out of possibilities to increase your bet so you lock in your losses and walk away a loser. You can win more often for a while, but eventually it will get you.

I think this is more typical in a simple game like roulette. But who wants to end up betting $10,000 at a chance of breaking even and wiping out $10,000 in smaller losses?

You could get yourself into real trouble gambling this way.

If only it were that simple.

You also have to know when to hold them.

And when to walk away.

And when to run.

Here is a fun way to play risking only 100 bucks. Remember, eventually, you will lose the entire hundred. Find a nickel game for job or deuces wild. You will be lucky to find a paytable over 96 percent. 100 bucks gives you 2,000 nickels.....usually best to cash out when you have coffee/gas money.

Bank balance

1950-2000 nickels. Bet 5 nickels
1890-1950. 6nickels
1820-1890. 7
1740-1820. 8
1650-1740. 9
1550-1650. 10
1440-1550. 11
1320-1440. 12
1190-1320. 13
1050-1190. 14
900- 1050. 15
740- 900. 16
570- 740. 17
390- 570. 18
200- 390. 19
0 - 200. 20

Warning: Look at the paytable. Some 20 coin machines only pay the royal bonus when 20 nickles are bet. The 5 coin bet would only pay 1250 for the royal instead of 4000 coins.

Wow! I havent run into that yet at Mohegan Sun. Even the 2 cent poker game pays the correct amount for bet 5. Actually, my favorite games there are in a single line non smoking row that I play on low budget trips. They are only 95-96 percent games, though the flexability of Martingale Clone allows me to have fun on them. They allow up to bet 40 coins. Best I remember, they have been there like 25 years since the casino opened. Once, I hit a Royal on one of them at bet 39 nickels. Hand pay though. Bummer. I probably play them 5 or 6 times a year, especially if I bust out early on quarters or dollar play.

Heading up to both Ct casinos tomorrow if I am able to shovel out OK. Have double booked comp rooms. Memory of hitting quad deuces Sunday night 4 times in 20 minutes on different machines is burning a hole in my pocket. Plan is quarters only on Airport Deuces. Also I have gone close to 200k hands now without a Royal
