Imperial Palace Biloxi, now known as IP, is excellent. They have a great non-smoking floor. Plenty of VP, decent pay tables, good service. I play a 50c, $1, $2, $5, $10 routine there.

The Grand is in a temporary location and it is nothing like it was pre-Katrina. Beau Riviage has been rebuilt and is quite elaborate but the paytables are not as good as IP. IP sets the standard for the Mississippi Coast as far as I am concerned. It is a Las Vegas style casino. There are other casinos now open and several in the planning stages. I used to go down there about once a month or so before Katrina. After the hurricane it seems like it was about six months before the first casino re-opened. Now I think there are 8, although some are in temporary locations. And the former Treasure Bay has kind of a game room opened, not really a casino. Eventually they think there will be 12 or 13 casinos operating on the coast. Because of the hurricane they no longer have to build the casinos over water. Now they can build on land within a certain distance from water, which has attracted new casino investment. As you may have read, the two major obstacles to rebuilding and investing on the Coast are (a) problems obtaining decent property insurance, and (b) a severe lack of qualified employees at competitive wages.

Hey Rascal,  Thanks for the info on the IP.  I will definitely check it out next time.  I mostly play at a Harrah's for the Total Rewards Program benefits, but I do like to explore other casino's!!
