Quick trip to the Corner - GN Penthouse

Post by Lucky Larry »

Sweet C and i decided after 4 days of babysitting a sick grandbaby and missing our regular trip to GNLC, we decided to drive over. The weather was going to be horrible so we did our typical, we "sheltered in place". Got to Lake Charles before the rain. Had requested an upper corner suite. At check in I said , "Hi" to a familiar desk clerk and asked how she was doing. As we talked I asked for a possible upgrade, knowing how mid-week is (less big spenders) and in a slow month (January) I knew there was a good chance. With a smile she completed my transaction and handed me the keys to our Corner Suite - Penthouse level. The perfect place to see in the incoming rain, eat good meals, sleep late and thanks to Sweet C catch an early Royal. After that no big hits but a restful two days and a drive home in clearing weather. its all in "timing" and... learning how to game the system. ;)

lucky lrry you and your spouse really seem to have hit upon the balance of casinos as entertainment and not allowing the costs to spiral out control. i think the fact that you and your wife have such a good relationship and share this desire of casino entertainment protects you from the downside that trips up so many other casino patrons. since casinos really became publicly owned and traded the overwhelming concern was short term profits and share price. todays casinos pay lip service to stopping people with problem gambling and drinking but if you visit certain strip property or definitely off strip casinos you will easily see desperate folks gambling and drinking who should not. true we live in a society that has a certain degree of personal liberty but it s obvious profits trump wellbeing. i should say greed instead of profit since profit itself is not bad but is the goal...its how much profit and how its obtained that is the problem.

majority of rich people do not patronize gambling on any frequency basis of regularity. it explains why the small number of whales are so vigorosly competed among the high class casinos. macau is a part exception to this since gambling is part of chinese culture.
