JDanno, back in 73, 1k would have been a healthy down payment on a house!

You are right! My wife's father had bought her a car new for $1100. It was an Opel.

Best trip to the casino was when I went into the casino with $20.  I had went to see a friend in hospital and decided to go over to the casino across the river and eat lunch.  Then thought oh well play my twenty and I played a $2 slot.  Second spin it went red double seven, red double seven, red double seven.  $5,000 was suddenly mine.  I took the taxes out. Then went home and paid off the car.

Worst trip was about three weeks later at the same casino.  I came with a $100.  First slot machine I played on first play hit $1,800.  I decided to stay and play a little more.  I hit $1,200 on third spin on next machine.  I went to another machine and hit on fifth spin $1,000.

Then my cell phone rings--daughter is coming with her husband and I got to feed them.  Well I was ready to leave but thought oh well I can afford to play a little more.  Good news was I went to blackjack table and only took out my eighty dollars left from my first hundred.  I played for about two hours waiting for the daughter and son-in-law.  Finally got up when they arrived and I had lost my eighty dollars.
Here I lost my $100 and had to buy my son-law-supper it had to be a bad evening at the caisno right!
Good news was I gave daughter $100 and took her to a couple of machines that pay often in that casino.  She hit $300 on third spin and she cashed it and we went home.
P.S. I do like the son-in-law he takes care of my daughter and has a job and when he goes to the casino he plays $20 and that is it!  Smart guy--I mean he got me as a father-in-law right
