Casino Chip Collection

Post by MikeA »

I have scanned my Chip collection.  It's pretty meager compared to the collections of serious collectors.  My goal was to get a chip from all the casinos in which I'd played Blackjack over the years.  There have been a couple given to me by friends and relatives that are what I call "Historic" or "Commemoratives".  Like the Sands and Dunes chips....I did not get to those casinos.  But for the most part, I've played at each of the other casinos in the collection and know from scanning them in that there are several on the Strip and some that are off the Strip that I have played at but for some reason, do not have chips from.  Most notable and disappointing, is the missing chip from the New Frontier!  I could have sworn I had one of those chips.  I guess I'll have to buy one off of eBay.The "albums" for the chips are broken down into several categories:Las Vegas "Historical"Las Vegas StripLas Vegas DowntownLas Vegas Off StripKansas TribalMissouri CasinosOklahoma TribalLook toward the bottom of the page at THIS LINK for the chip collections.

Mike, just starting a collection of my own.   I wanted to find some commemorating NYs this year when I was in Vegas over the Holiday but did not see any.  When I got home and checked online I found out the Four Queens had some and I missed out.  There are some good sites online that have them.  One of the good ones is nevadacasinochips.com.

Incidentally, I knew that I was going to be in town when you were going to be there.  I was intending to get in touch but for some reason it turned out to be the trip from hell.  My wife was sick the whole time.  When she was up we were not getting along.  We had horrible luck.  I missed the Van Halen concert in order to play keep playing this machine that seemed like it was about to fulfill my every wish.  Seriously, everything but the genie and the royal.  On top of it all, we got our camera stolen on the last day there.  I was so totally disgusted that we left for home in California at 10pm on the 31st!

I don't know if I was the member that you were referring to in one of your posts but if I was you can see why I gave up on any further activities...

I would love to start collecting chips. Sounds like a fun activity.

I would like to start with the ones that are valued at 10,000 dollars. So if anyone wants to send me one or two please do so!

I just attended the flea market in Memphis, Tn. and ran into a booth that had casino chips from all over the world. Some I recognized and others like the Dolphin Casino I had never heard of.

Thanks for the reply MIke.  I know that I  had posted a few times that I was going to be in Vegas and where I would be ...  I was pretty sure that I was not the one you were referring to but wanted to be sure.  Either way, I had pretty much planned on keeping in contact with all the forum members during the trip but things had gotten pretty hectic so I did not bother.

Of course, on the four hour drive home I had a chance to think about all my missed opportunities.

Oh well, there is always next time.  Thanks for the link to the chip site.
