omt, good luck! just trying to follow the discussion is difficult. no sooner do you point out some area of concern, then reb immediately switches to something else.

when reb says 'educated and informed', that means 'might' is really absolute certainty. when they say something, it is to be taken as a fact, not to be debated, questioned and not for discussion.

The State of Illinois announced the adaptation of new restrictions in Will County because of a rise in Covid-19 cases. These new restrictions state that effective tomorrow Wednesday August 26, 2020 casinos located in Will County (Harrah's Joliet and Hollywood Joliet) will be required to close at 11:00 pm everyday and operate at no more than 25% capacity for the next 14 days. After 14 days these restrictions will be re-evaluated determined by the number of case going up or down. An 11:00 pm closing means that these 2 casinos will begin emptying the casinos each night at 10: 00 pm.

Restaurants and bars have similar restrictions.

What's most telling of all, Mr. Onemoretree is you have or had nothing to say at all, nada especially on the topic I originally wanted to discuss and wanted people even like you to post (i.e. Casinos and their survival, and how they're going to tough it out). But all it took was a half a sentence from me making a off the cuff reference to climate changes.

Not having been in a casino in almost six months, and not having what I thought to be any significant thoughts on the original topic, I was content to sit on the sidelines and follow the banter. However, your uncalled for elitist comment about climate change prompted me to dive in. The "we know better and if you don't agree with us you're a non-scientific idiot" attitude irks me.

After your making comments referring to the most pathetic and tragic display of U.S. government incompetence, and vilification of proper management of the pandemic by liberals burning inside certain people, it's ironic to me that you assign the blame for derailing the thread on notes1. Did you really think your comments wouldn't generate a reaction?

but your comment about "we know better than you etc etc" is totally wrong, never meant that, never said it....you just imagined it out of your own insecurity or issues or whatever.....you dont know me anymore than I know you.

I totally do not believe you are "ready to learn" but i will point out a few facts anyway.
#1) The earths climate has always been in a process of change for 4.5 billion years.
#2)There are both written and geological records of far greater changes than what we see now.
examples of which are "The Great Warming" in apx. 1050-1350 AD. During that period temperatures were apx. 5-7 degrees higher than now and it proved to be helpful rather than harmful. Also 25,000 years ago my property in MI. was covered by 1-3 miles of ice. None of this "blamable" on fossil fuels or dinosaur farts.
#3)Predicting environmental catastrophe is a lucrative business,as pointed out by Matthew Ridley in his writings about the one-sided distribution of Federal money to researchers. Not touting the party line? No money! There are significant examples of data manipulation by researchers to qualify for funding. And also a dearth of reporting on researchers who paint a different picture. Do i know the truth? No! And neither does anyone else on this forum. Why? Reread this paragraph.
#4)I doubt that very many of the fervent fear mongers even know the relative amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
It is apx. .4%, that is four-tenths of one percent,in case you missed the decimal point.
