Who did you wanted to meet?

i would have loved to meet so many people in this world past and present, from all paths of life to name a few arnold schwarzenegger, Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan, Bobby Fischer, Ken Uston, Bob Dancer, Bill Gates maybe in the early 90s of his hay day, maybe even Hitler, so many great minds i would have loved to meet and have lunch with.

i guess somethings aren't meant to be =/

My three dinner guests would be Vince Lombardi, Robert Moses-the builder and Jackie Robinson. Vince Lombardi was more than a football coach, he was a leader of men and a very interesting individual. Robert Moses was a master builder and really shaped New York City and Long Island. Jackie Robinson was the most influential African American in my opinion. He led by example. I'd need at least a few hours.

Having Robert Moses and Jackie Robinson in the same room would be interesting. Mr Robinson did much to advance the cause of his race, while Mr Moses did the opposite. On Long Island, for example, Mr Moses built a series of fantastic parks but he also insisted that the roads leading to them had very low bridges so there would be no public transportation for city folks to be able to access them. He tore down blocks of decent houses in order to build the high rise apartment projects that are so hated today. More than anyone else, he was responsible for the Dodgers and Giants leaving NY. He did an awful lot of good things for NY but some of his projects, like the Cross Bronx Expressway went out of their way to destroy middle class black neighborhoods. Many historians hold him responsible for turning the Bronx and Brooklyn into the hell holes they became in the 60s/70s. It took Brooklyn forty years to recover and most of the Bronx still hasn't.
It would make for an interesting dinner.

I agree with most of this. Didn't say I admired Moses, just that I find him very interesting. As a civil engineer myself, I would have a lot to ask him. His biography, written by Robert Caro -The Power Broker is a great book. Very long though about a thousand pages. With all the money he had access to thru tolls from his authorities, he was more powerful than the Governor.

Ditto: As for me, too many to list. Sports Figures, Music icons, religious leaders, inventors, scientists, military leaders, political leaders, etc. Given contemporary issues and times, I'll follow cars example. How about this quartet for dinner: Martin Luther King, Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Golda Meir, and William F. Buckley.

so many lives, so little time, as one name i mentioned, Socrates can talk to us (w/ his books) but we can't talk to him. so i guess we have to accept the fact we won't meet people we admire and look up at and inspire to be like. and thats just the way it is (words like unfair come to mind) but thats whats suppose to happen (like our next future visits at our gaming houses)
