When playing Deuces wild bonus poker and dealt a straight consisting of 2 deuces, is the best strategy to hold only the 2 deuces so that you are assured of (at least) a 3 of a kind on every hand? A straight pays the same as 3 of a kind, so I dont see any reason to hold the straight that is dealt.
I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, please help!

You're not. In fact, holding a flush with two deuces is an inferior play, as well.

I always toss the flush when it pats just 2 for one. I can’t remember how big of an error ( I think small ) when the flush pays 3 for one. When using the Clone progression, I keep the flust at 3 for one with 2 dealt deuces. If someone wants too, they can post the em error cost.
