2023

Post by onemoretry »

Last year, around this time, I posted an account of our final 2022 casino visit to Seneca Niagara. Despite a couple of really bad sessions, the final result, thanks to our combined four royals, was +$4300 for the team.

We did a similar trip to finish off 2023 but, unfortunately, the results were not nearly as good. For starters, the exceptionally good trip to the casino in 2022 (less than two hours) was replaced by a three and a half hour one, thanks to a major highway closure caused by a multi-vehicle collision, and the resulting detour through an urban area.

While the trip result wasn't nearly as good as the previous year, we did manage a modest $800 profit (with one royal) and any trip that winds up with a plus is a good one.

For the entire year, though, plus is not the right word. Overall, I was down about $9600, while my wife did slightly better, at minus $9200. I estimate our combined total coinin for the year at around $1.65 million, which puts our loss at about 1.14% of that amount.

DO you include your free play in the totals? I tracked my machine play and Fp separate this year, don't have my statement for total coin in yet.

Was only down $6,455 thanks to 2 Royals at year end. My free play after harvest was plus $20,975 includes weekly and FP drawings. That is what I made from it did not keep total on the year. So plus $14,520 on the year 2023. Plus Cash Cube monies of $12,900 Grand total plus $27,420 now the tax man in April :ouch:

I came in not so good for 2023, but not that unusual. Coin in about the same as OMT. Lost 2 percent or roughly 32,000. The Mrs ended dead even on her 96 percent nickel DDB Triple play Ultimate X. Don’t know how she does it, but she does. I don’t keep track of Free play separately. I think I only had about 3k in free play. I had about 150 trips, ( only an hour ride ), so each trip cost just over 200 bucks. All rooms are comped and food is paid for, so I can’t really complain.

I don't make any attempt to track how much "free" play I have received, so, yes the totals do include the "free" play. Having stated that, however, I now realize that we each cashed in points at the Four Queens, which, if accounted for, would reduce the overall loss number by three or four hundred dollars.

Yeah, FP warrants a mention in each TR, but I won't bother accounting for it overall. It's truly token house money and notable only if one hit a hand pay with it. Trifling coin in, but AC was none too generous.

I think my free play is about 1/4 of one percent. A bit more is offered if played 24/7. That ain’t a gonna happen. If anything taper back this year

Seems like several of us run in that 1.5-2m coin in club. Your promotions are waaaaaaayyy. More generous than Mohegan Sun. Not really complaining. Just observing.

I think I'm in the area of 300 hours x $5k avg = $1.5m coin in. But I could be high or low on that. Loss was under $10k, probably closer to 5. That's video poker only, excluding slot club rewards. I've played a lot of 99.5 Jacks and 99.7 NSUD. Those games are hard to beat outright on any substantial volume. I'm doubtful that I've ever beaten vp through the course of an entire year.

I play a lot of stuff including reels and electronic tables, and my recordkeeping isn't adequate to the task of breaking everything out. Win/loss statements don't provide sufficient detail. Some of the casinos I play such as the Caesars group only disclose net results, no mention of coin in.
