Re: No more FPDW anywhere!
Many years ago, I talked to the head of slots there. He had no idea about VP paytables. Just said we just install them the way they are set up when we get them

Irresponsible behavior is systemically encouraged by government. We have too much government.
Irresponsible behavior is a choice; everyday people in society could choose to realize two wrongs don't make a right, they could choose to realize it's actually better for them in the long run to act responsibly, and they could choose to ignore the "systemic" irresponsible, incompetent and corrupt behavior of the government as a whole. Likewise Today's government legislators could choose to do the right things and make the right decisions. No one does because no one fears any accountability anymore, either in this world or the next.
If the government did what it is supposed to do, you wouldn't feel this way. If you have a King Solomon running things then you want a huge government. If you have Biden or Trump, and AOC & Majorie Taylor Greene, you cringe and hide and resent every nickel of tax you pay.

It seems to me like some of this thread belongs in "Anything and Everything" rather than in "Video Poker Games."

Yes youn are correct, I thought of that a while after I posted. The discussion debate segued around related topics. I will try to refrain purely political thoughts from this section, I apologize for not thinking of this sooner.

I recently discovered free Pluto TV and have been watching it in my browser. They have old Happy Days episodes in its streaming and on-demand offerings and that infamous episode where the Fonz goes to hollywood to be a movie star and instead ends up water skiing over Jaws. I was a teenager when that first aired and who could have predicted the episode gave birth to a term that now means crossing the line into absurdity?
Well, I have a video poker game thought I can add to this to legitimize my post. Speaking of jumping sharks, I just tried playing the game on this site Lucky 8 Wheels Poker. This is the ultimate gimmick game if I ever saw one. I was trying to calculate in my head the correct holding strategy rather than look it up, and I can't figure it out. Clearly in this game holding 8s is extremely important, but if you are playing something like DDB Luck-8 wheel poker, and the four 8s pays significantly more than the four aces with kickers, 2888 credits vs 2000, what's the correct holding strategy overall?
This website says the only casino anywhere that has this game is Sunset Station. I have never seen this before anywhere. This game indeed is jumping the shark!

Yes my bad lol
With this game what's very bizarre is the fact you can be dealt something as basic as three 6s and get to spin this wheel which has values as high as 8888! Think on that, three of a kind equal to 2.25 royals almost! There must be a catch to that somewhere that I have not learned yet. I won't be at sunset station probably never so unless a casino up here in northeastern Canada or North America gets this game I will just enjoy playing around with it here. I hope someone does have a real money session with it and reports the results here.

What a coincidence Karl. I discovered Free Pluto TV 2 weeks ago. Been watching regularly since. Airport Deuces didn’t help me at all though in last nights Session at Bizarro World.

Occasionally Lucky 8s Wheel Poker is offered on this site as a contest game. I have not worked out DDB's strategy, but in 9-6 TDB, if you were dealt two pair Aces and Eights, holding the pair of 8s has a higher EV than holding the pair of aces. And, of course, if the pair of 8s does not improve, the coins won are zero.Karl_EDT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:19 amI recently discovered free Pluto TV and have been watching it in my browser. What is much more complicated to calculate is when you should hold a single eight. Often the singleton 8 is preferable to a singleton high card Q or K, and once in a great while preferable to a singleton J.
You need a bunch of wheel hits to keep your head above water and away from the shark in this game.
