Re: All by myself
I think we're seeing some of that increase in offers here in Kansas too CD. Not Oklahoma.....just Kansas and Missouri. The places we've played a lot have really increased the room offers and meal vouchers. Well, not AmeriStar. They downgraded my wife from Black Card to Silver. But they still will come up with a room for us if we happen to want to go there.

Nevada's smoking policy is smoking only in gaming areas and designated areas. No outdoor restrictions yet except around hospitals and doorways. California started that way and now bans it in many places.
The casinos here in CO went smokeless at the beginning of the year. As a smoker, I thought that I'd have more problems with it than I've actually had. Nicotine gum with an occasional dash outside for the real thing gets me through. The places I play at have overhead heat lamps in their outdoor smoking areas which will be nice when the snow starts flying, as my head is insulation-challenged.
The smoking ban has saved me quite a bit in smokes, as I used to go through a pack during an average session. Oh, yes, I've heard that there are health benefits to it, also.
BS...when you were in Vegas, was it during the week or over a weekend?
Sun. Sept. 7th- Thurs. 11th. Sorry I missed you, Cat. It would have been fun to me a VP hero.
BigSteve, it would have been a pleasure to make your acquaintance. It might sicken some folks here to think that a friend and I went up to LV for the 24 hour turnaround. Left Calif. at 6AM and got back at 5AM following morning. I won more at bowling sweepers than I did at the machines!

Just got off the phone with a guy who went to the Harrah's today and he said it seemed like there were fewer players there than normal. He did say it still gets pretty crowded on the weekends still. They went to the racino last thursday but ended up not playing because they found out they had to pay for thier drinks. I'm not sure why that is because they were approved for providing free drinks to players a while back. He did say there were very few players but thats not unusual for the racino on a weeknight. They do draw a crowd when they give away something though.
