Tucson Az

Post by oej719 »

I have to make a trip to Tucson, Az in March.
I was wanting to know if their casinos are Tribal Casinos or like those in
Nevada.

Are there poker machines Vlt's?
Do they have RNG's?

Has anyone here and information about the casinos there.
I figured since I was going to be there for a week I might as well see what they were like.

Thanks

I lived in Tucson for a few years and played in Blackjack Tournaments over there.  There are 3 casinos:  Casino Del Sol, Casino Of The Sun, and Desert Diamond Casino.

Desert Diamond Casino and Casino Del Sol have plenty of Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker Machines, but I'm not sure of the RNG's though.

Hey thanks bicyclecardplayer. Maybe someone else will let me know about
the Rng's thingy.

Linda Boyd,s book about VP is a little confusing about Video Lottery Terminal,s (VLT'S), and class II and class III machines.
She says class II machines do not have Rng's. So no strategy is usefull since it is like a scratch ticket, the win is predetermined.

And right below that she says class III machines may or may not have Rng's and may or may not be called VLT's.
Her book also says that Arizona does not have VLt's.
But maybe someone here can  confirm that before I play there.

See I read here on this board that all class III machines are random and have Rng's.

That is pretty much the definition of class III machines. The machines in Tucson are class III, that is, normal VP machines. I visit Tucson a couple of times a year but I haven't played there in quite awhile so I can't give you an up-to-date inventory.

Thanks Shadowman. If I have time while there I will give them a shot.
I have never been to Tucson before. Is it a nice town? Looks like a beautiful place with the mountains and desert, catcus etc.
Are you from the Southwest?

I live in NV ... I have relatives in the Tucson area.

The town is typical of many southwestern cities with mountains and lots and lots of desert surrounding the city. It isn't as big as Phoenix and does not have nearly as much pollution. Also, it doesn't get quite as hot in the summer (only 110 instead of 115 on a hot day) since the elevation is higher. I think you'll enjoy your visit.

Well I just got back from Tucson and played a little at all 4 casinos there.
No great winnings but no great loses either.
The one thing that stands out though as weird is that the only 4 of a kinds I got were all dealt.
I got 4 - 4 of a kinds and they were all dealt.
Kind of makes me wonder about their RNG's.

You didn't say how much you played so it's hard to say much. I suspect it's just another typical gambling variation.

Interestingly, I've had quite a few dealt 4Ks lately myself. Maybe it's the phase of the moon.

I played about 2-3 hrs at each casino.
Could not be the phase of the moon Shadowman, I only played in the daytime!
I think it was because I did not wear the lucky socks.
