It is funny most of the people I know who would be visiting Atlantic City have stopped and make both the Meadows and Wheeling their choice for gaming. We will be flying to AC in early March for three days, courtesy of Harrah's comp offer, again. In the past, these flights seemingly filled up immediately. In my instruction envelope this time is a pink slip stating they have room for 20 more.  An 800 phone number is included, if we know anyone interested. This time the flight is out of Toledo, not as convenient for us as Detroit Metro but doable.

Thanks Mike, I thought you might be the first to request that Harrah's phone number for the AC trip. I resisted the mad impulse to include that phone number on forum and see how long it took WM to spot it. Define oxymoron: There's a huge, black billboard size sign on median of N bound Lodge in round orange lights: "SAVE LIVES, AVOID DISTRACTIONS WHEN DRIVING". Short of witnessing a roll over accident, that sign is by far the biggest distraction I have ever seen when driving anywhere! WHAT was that sign writer thinking? Probably something like 'don't talk on your cell phone or try to eat yogurt' when driving. Those signs ARE great when alerting to an accident and/or lane closure up ahead.

I agree, there is a lot more VP machines at MGM, but the paytables are so bad and depressing that I would not even consider playing them, besides playing the pickem there.  When I went into that place when it opened up new, I was very disappointed with what they had put in.  So I would rather play at a place that has better VP, but fewer machines, as in the long run, that's what really matters if you go all the time and that's what I do, is play too much !!!!  In fact I'm leaving for a one night stay down at Motor City for tonight !!!!  Got to get packing !!!!!  lolI'm not sure if this recession or downward economy has been bad or good for us VP players.  You'd think they would have to entice you in with better offers, just to get you back in the door, but some places have tighten up across the board on everything, with less cash back, fewer free rooms, show tickets.....etc.  I know I have been going less lately, and to think about going and playing a bad table stops me in my tracks at times !!!!!!  The $500 & then $100 "match this" promo that the Soaring Eagle Casino ran late last year and then in mid January was a big BOOST to my VP winnings for 2008.  Every single time I walked into that place, I took NO money, got my FREE play, sometimes it was $500 a day before they scaled it back to $100 and I walked out ahead, that occurred like 40 times in a row, which was a great win streak, when you have the option to risk none of your own money, and run it through once and then quit, (if you have the will power), is a WIN, WIN situation.  I ended up paying off my new car in 6 months with that promotion...... Life is good again..... lol   I'm wondering if the recession had not hit and for the economy to be so bad around here, would this promo ever have existed, because I think it made a big difference in the number of people coming every day to that casino, because midweek it was a ghost town in there.  At least people came to play, eat, and maybe even booked a night at the hotel due to the promo.-LZ
