More Lower Tables at Isle-Lake Charles

Post by Lucky Larry »

In the continuing saga of Isle of Capri Lake Charles the 25¢ VP machines were this changed this week to lower pay tables. This now effectively lowers the previously decent pay returns on all of their VP.

Perhaps the strangest change at the same time was the elimination of several major VP games. Deuces Wild, Deuces Wild Bonus, and Jacks or Better (basic games and extremely popular at IOC-Lake Charles) were removed completely as an option along with the removal of Joker and Aces Bonus. Higher variable games like Triple Double Double Bonus, Double Double Bonus Plus, and Super Double Double Bonus and the ever popular Keno were added in their place. At this point there is no difference between the pay returns at the older Isle boat and the newer Vegas style Lauberge du Lac across the river.

My condolences. Do you have any other options?

shadowman,
Thanks for the condolences. We just like to have life the way we want it! The option is not bad.    Lauberge du Lac (LDL) is about 5 years old and a beautiful Vegas quality, bavarian hunting lodge theme casino with 1,600+ all console machines and adjustable chairs, good buffet, awesome rooms, and amenities like a lazy river with swim up bar. They have lots of VP but mid- 97's-low 98% return on quarters. However; since it caters to the high rollers - it has 99% return $1/$2/$5 VP. LDL even has three $45 or $90/hand Spin Poker machines available. Saw a nice $72K hit one night while we played $VP two machines down from the guy who was playing $90/hand. We have had some nice $1 and $5 hits but nothing on the lower returns. Our only complaint is the comps are lousy and we were spoiled to higher return machines. It easy to get spoiled to 100% return at Red Rock and 98% return quarters and 99% return multi-hand nickels at the Isle of Capri.

We have resolved ourselves to not worry about the comps since we are now playing less $. We have so much comp at the Isle of Capri across the river that we can probably stay 2 days every week until July with free meals everyday and play at LDL.   Only issue we seem to have is not enough $$$$$ to play every week. Dang that stock market!!!   The sacrifices you have to make when you retire at an early age.

Work for more $$$ or retire early. The choices are so tough - we had lived frugal all our lives so we chose retirement and sacrificed our dreams of playing $45/hand spin poker.

PS Shadowman,
Any idea on the denomination options for Good Times pay and Dream Card from IGT? See other post.
