For the money, I would stay at J.A Nugget in Sparks..Ok..I was a slot manager in Sparks but Peppermill and Atlantis are really in a bad part of town and are tacky. Atlantis over the Peppermill..I worked for both outfits. Nugget is great but don't play the slots. Head down the street to a small place called the "Western Village" if you like video poker. Them and a number of small places called "Dotty's" have the highest paytables in town. I know, I keychipped them. High limit too. Up to a 100 a hand on video poker. popular 92 ab on 5 cent keno as well. Remember ..play optimumGood luck.

To me the pepper is a lot of smoke & Mirrors, downtown has 6 casinosin short walking dist. The eldro. has good vp and for 2$ you can geta 24hr bus pass and go to any place in reno or sparks you want andnot have to drive. they have a great transpo system. But then thatsjust my opinion. You'll have fun where ever you stay.

I have to think this person is a shill, or has some ill will towards the Peppermill or Atlantis, because this statement is preposterous. The area around the Peppermill and the Atlantis are not, and never have been a bad part of town over the last 10-11 years that I have been regularly visiting Reno. I visit Reno at least 8 times a year, and I regularly walk the 5 blocks between the Atlantis and the Peppermill, day or night.
The bad part of town is to the east and west of downtown, particularly along 4th Street. I would not recommend walking to places like the Sands Regency or Gold Dust West.
