spin poker vs multiplay

Post by wolffspar@aol.com »

I understand that you should use the same stratgey for spin poker as you would for single line or multiplay. But my question is does this assume you are playing max lines and max coins on the spin poker machine. What if I am only playing 3 lines but still max coin ( 5 credits) on spin poker would that change my ER?

As long as you are playing max coin, it does not matter how many lines you are playing.  The max-EV strategy stays the same on spin poker.

Now, if you start playing less than max-coin, you would need a new strategy, but it would also be the same short-coin strategy no matter how many lines you are playing.

Multistrike poker must operate differently because unless you play max coins you can't get to the top line(8x).  Maybe I'm wrong but I've tried to play max lines with less-than-max coins and it doesn't work.  I guess I need to get out of the kiddie pool but 5 bucks a spin is a little too rich for my blood.

I have played multistrike in  casinos  and have just played one coin and get to top line alot. Hardly ever get a decent deal on that top line though. Even hit some nice payouts on ocassion. Not often though. Mutlistrike, Supertimes Pay, and multi line games all just eat my money. So I don't play them often or devote much money to them. If they don't payout fast I'm gone.
Single line BP and DDB keep me in the game until I hit a winner usually.

I think it would, for the reason that on spin poker the cards you draw on any one of your three lines (assume you're playing the three straight-across lines there) can't appear on any of the other two lines.

Say you're dealt four to a Royal. On a Triple Play machine it's possible, though unlikely, you can fill the Royal on each one of the three lines; on spin poker it's not.

Note that the expected value for four to a Royal in spin poker with max coins in is exactly the same as for a "straight" 9-line machine, short story being that though you only get one chance to draw the last card it will pay between 2 and 5 times the Royal payoff depending on where it appears on the layout. Overall you will fill 1/3 fewer Royal draws but they will pay 3 times as much, so it's a wash.

In the long run.
