Four Winds is BIG. Wear comfortable shoes and don't get your hopes up for good video poker. The selection is rather limited but they have enoough slot machines to tickle your fancy. If you get the chance to stay in the hotel, do it, the rooms are very nice.

Crowds will build on the weekends but during the week even at night the crowds are manageable. Overall it is a very nice casino. Good luck to you if you go.

It's one of our Michigan favorites.  The staff is friendly and helpful.  The casino is large and roomy.  The selection of video poker, as Tedlark said, is limited.  We have never had trouble finding a machine to play, especially during the week.  Comps are pretty generous.  We have free room offers regularly.  I haven't had great luck, but my husband has had more than one good hit ( a royal on .50 was the best).  There's a room off the main casino that has a bank of video poker machines, and there's a nonsmoking area that has 6 video poker machines.  We always go to a restaurant about 15 minutes away called the Heston Supper Club.  It's worth the drive if you like prime rib.  Good luck!

We lost on three trips to Four Winds. Ted is right, the casino is BIG and the rooms are very nice. The one quick quads machine was always occupied. Granted, twice we did not stay very long as we were en route to Chicago and back. It's a long, winding drive in and we watched out for deer. At night, I would watch out for other drivers more so than during the day.

Froggie is absolutely dead on accurate about the Heston Supper Club, a real gem.

they have $100 video poker machines in their high-limit room....my usual bankroll for a trip to the casino is $1000....i vowed two years ago that if i ever have a day where i win $10,000 i'll take half of it,  go to four winds and play 10 hands at max credits and see what happens...i'm still waiting for this event to take place

We drive 4 hours to get from Wisconsin to Four Winds and Heston Supper club. Always an enjoyable (if not profitable) trip.

MICHIGAN
There are 17 Indian casinos in Michigan and the tribes are not required to release information on their slot machine payback percentages. However, according to officials at the Michigan Gaming Control Board, which is responsible for overseeing the tribal-state compacts, "the machines must meet the minimum standards for machines in Nevada or New Jersey." In Nevada the minimum return is 75% and in New Jersey it's 83%. Therefore, Michigan's Indian casinos must return at least 75% in order to comply with the law.
There are also three privately owned casinos in Detroit, but their slot payback information is not made available to the public
THE ABOVE IS COPIED FROM A WEB ARTICLE. NOT MY OWN WORDS         Im glad I did a little research. I know that the slots in Indiana have been averaging 91% to 94% payback. The fact that Mich wont even disclose their % tells me something

Info. is good brmcc and appreciated.  I have had good luck at both 4 Winds and Blue Chip.  I enjoy 4 Winds because they have better choice of games w/varied denoms.  I would not stay away because returns aren't posted.
