Joker Poker

Post by xxanex »

I found a bank of .25/1.00 Joker Poker that pays 500 for Royal Flush and 4000 for 5 of a kind. How big of a benefit is this for the player?This is at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, IA.

The 5OAK occur more often then Royal Flushes in DDB. But get ready to hold onto your hat, as the variance for this game is evil.

ACJOKER : 5OAK occurs approx. every 10,994 hands.
                  Variance = 70.4%
                  Return = 97.19%

DDB         : Royal occurs approx. every 40,799 hands
                  Variance = 41.98%
                   Return = 98.98%
The strategy for the 4000 5OAK game is much more difficult to master then DDB.
You can find it on this site under ACJOKER . Enjoy!

Unless you take the time to get the strategy down within 99.99% correct or better. The game has a lot of 0ne and Two card holds. I personally like the game. Your experience may be different.

Its a very exciting game except when you get a lot of those hands where theres nothing much to hold except one or two cards. Its one of my favorite VP games-as Faygo knows!

Sounds a lot like one eyed jacks.

your traing mode on jokers wild tells you what to hold sometimes a 5 or a 7 ora8 or a 10 or whatever but you give no explaination why to hold them cards and every book on joker poker never says to hold them cards it is hard to understand your traing method

your traing mode on jokers wild tells you what to hold sometimes a 5 or a 7 ora8 or a 10 or whatever but you give no explaination why to hold them cards and every book on joker poker never says to hold them cards it is hard to understand your traing methodI'm going to guess that you are talking about a Joker game that has the lowest paying hand as Two Pair, possibly the Atlantic City version that pays 4000 coins for a 5 of a kind (5oak or 5-tree in this forum).  If that is the case...(I'm quoting from another post I made some time ago)...It's generally better to hold a singleton than draw 5 new cards partly
because a 5-tree pays so much in this game.  If you hold a singleton, a
5-tree is always possible, but if you draw 5 new cards, the first card
might match one of your discards (happens more than 30% of the time).
In that case, your admittedly slim shot at quints totally vanishes.
Also if you pick a singleton from Five to Ten that is the only card of
that suit in your hand, you maximize your chances at a flush or straight
flush.You've got to be patient when playing this game and take
what you can.  Seven times out of ten, you're going to get nothing, so
there are bigger total droughts with this game than with many
others...but all you need to put cash in your pocket is that one five of
a kind.  It occurs a bit more than 4 times as often as a natural royal
in most other games.
