Ok, I swore we would not go back to the Harrahs Cherokee. But it was our anniversary so we gave it one more shot.
We stayed in the new Creek Tower. The rooms are impressive. This is the first hotel we have ever stayed at that had a door bell! I still do not like the layout. Depending on where your room is, you may have a long walk to the casino.
As for the gambling, we are probably 95% video poker players. The DDBP machines at the bars were 6/5 machines. On the floor, they were mostly 8/5. I seen DB machines at 9/6. Our 2 previous trips to this casino were not very good and a lot of the machines had mechanical problems.
To make a long story short, there were no improvements made with the machines. Just about every poker machine I sat down at had some mechanical malfunction, if it wasn't a broken button, the player card reader was broke, or the bill acceptor didn't accept.
I don't know about you but this made me very aggravated, expecially while we were getting killed! I feel the casino doesn't care because they are the only game in town in the N.C. area. The less they pay for machine maintenance, the better their bottom line.
I definately will not be going back there, especially when we will be getting a Casino Boat nearby (North Charleston, SC).
Anyway, I am looking for some good email addresses that I can email a nice compaint letter. All I have is the "Contact Us" link from the website. I would really like to email the Cherokee tribal leaders to let them know the shody job Harrah's is doing for them.
Thanks,
Ray

In my tribe we have a business commitee. look up the tribes website they must have one and contact them that way. Your other alternative is call the tribes administrative office . they could probably steer you in the right direction. Or contact the gaming general manager at the casino. good luck ray

I found a webpage with all of the Cherokee administration staff. I could not find the casino general manager email, but just took a chance at it (I have his name).
We'll see if this goes anywhere.
Thanks,
Ray

And got this reply from gaming manager:
Ray,
Thank you for taking time to provide feedback concerning the issues that you had with our video poker machine. I am very disappointed that we failed to meet your expectations. There is no excuse, we must do a better job of ensuring that all of our games work properly 100% of the time. I will review the games that you played and have each of them inspected. I am always available to address any concern that you may have with any of our product. Please fill free to call me, my office number is 828.497.8805.

Since you'll never go back, theres no way of knowing if anything will ever get fixed. Bringing problems to corporates attention will not guarantee anything. "I'll get someone on it right away" usually squelches the squeaky wheel. Thats the best thing you can do is to not patronize them, tribal or not. Here in Ca, it's predominantly tribal with a few card clubs and bingo halls. No slot/vp allowed unless local govt. approves it and only the Indians have the land and the means. They stay well within Nevada gaming guidelines here for class III machines. Good luck and see if someone else will update Ray.
