My wife and I are getting ready to go back to Tunic in early Sept and early Oct. Haven't been since Feb 11, so it's about time. Got everything for both trips already booked. Questions are: How are the casinos/hotels since the spring flood? Still have good VP at Roadhouse (it was great in Feb)? Any other good VP machines, or other games, in other casinos? Update me, if you please. Thanks.

Roadhouse was the only place I had any luck.  The rest were rancid.  The goldstrike used to have some odd poker games up stairs next to live poker.  Good Luck.

Another very good trip to Tunica. Roadhouse by far is the best VP I've encountered. There's a large alcove just inside the front door with over 100 machines. (Two bar areas with VP, but poor paytables.) All but a few machines in the VP area have multi game options, some with 12 and 16 game selections. JOB, BP, DBP, TDB, DW, BDW, A-8, JW, and more. A few games of STP, Spin Poker, Ultimate X. Didn't see 50 or 100 play. Several banks of Game King. Most games with average pay tables. Most machines have at least one 9-6 game, and it varies from bank to bank. Several Banks have a super TDB game with 9-7, A w/K 4000, 4-2,3,4 w/ A,2,3,4 K at 2000.

Played some at Horseshoe. Rough paytables and very, very tight. Better off at the WofOZ slot by the west door. (Hit the Wizard for over $300 playing 40 lines on pennies. I play OZ when I take VP breaks for the pure entertainment value. ) Goldstrike has a few VP machines, very hard to find and harder to find one open. Mississippi delta legend has it that you can hear the VP machines at Goldstrike pay off during full moons on even numbered years when the River doesn't flood and the summer doesn't scorch. Sadly, not this year.

I've long since given up on other Tunica casinos. Sam's Town is okay, but just okay. Fitz's is Fitz's. It's worth a trip for the single deck BJ, and dinner comp after about a half hour of play. If the dealer doesn't offer, just ask. And the restaurant (I forget the name -- I navigate by magnetic field lines, not names) has excellent prime rib dinner for only a few bucks. I'm not talking about the buffet.

Hit A w/K Friday nite within the first hour. Had several other quads by 8 pm. By midnight, I'd taken in over $1500, playing quarters. Held my own on Saturday. Was able to send wifey pooh shopping at the outlet mall just down the road. She hit several jackpots while she was there as well, so everybody came home happy.

Horseshoe and Goldstrike were crowded, crowded, crowded! Hardly room to stand and wait for a table or machine after 4 pm. Roadhouse, was full Friday and Saturday nights, but not packed. Always an open seat at a table or favorite machine.

From what I've read, and from experience, Harrah's properties usually have bad reps for VP. I have to recommend Roadhouse for VP. I've never lost there. I can find a way to blow it all in Vegas or at the Indian casinos. (I'm a card carrying, voting Oklahoma Cherokee, by gawd, so I don't wanna hear nothing about that politically correct junk. I'm an Indian, dang it!!    ) Can't beat the paytable, game selection, friendliness and down home feel. If you really have to have 5 star accomodations, then Roadhouse isn't for you. But for a really comfortable and casual good time, this place has it all. 3 decent casinos all in easy walking distance.

None of the casinos have suffered damage from the spring floods. All are in good shape and open for business. The ravages of the floods and summer heat are visible, but the casino resorts came through with flying colors. Prices for everything are cheaper than Vegas, and you can find about everything you like there, except a strip jam packed with tourists, gamblers, porn slappers or 3 block long overhead light show. I forgot that Tunica is in the upper Mississippi river delta this trip. At this time of year, everything is getting ready to harvest. That includes mosquitoes, harvesting me. (I wonder what they eat when I'm not there??? )

We're going back again in a month. My sister and bro-in-law will join us all the way from New Hampshire. They're Vegas Veterans, going 3 or 4 times a year. We'll celebrate her birthday, visit Memphis, the casinos and take in a show at Goldstrike with the Temptation. (Yeah, we're 50-almost-60-somethings.) All set for another stay at the Roadhouse.

Well your report is pretty much whatever one else reports.  I've been many times and never have had any luck at any of them but never came out a loser at the Roadhouse.  So now I stay at the Horshoe and then just walk over to the RH and play.  Your report is spot on and I also play Wiz when I am bored hope you were playing max that JP is over $5.5m!!!  Which is insane for a Wiz game,  I don't think it has hit in the state since they installed it.

I went to Roadhouse this past week.  Played for about three hours on video poker machine and left a couple of hundred up.  Earn a lot of base points playing so should get a nice invite back I hope!
