My first trip to Vegas was in 2004 I guess.  And it wasn't a "gambling trip".  We flew out there to the MGM to see Joe Walsh and the Eagles (oh wait, It's just the Eagles...Walsh is just a hired gun for them!).  I seriously doubt that I myself put more than $10 through machines on that 4-day trip.  I had a crick in my neck from trying to see EVERYTHING (including the string thongs walking through the casino to the pool area!)   That was the first trip.  There have been 17 since then!  But then my FIRST gambling trip was to Hot Springs, Arkansas back around 1967 when gambling was illegal there except for the horse track and its wagers.  But, every corner bar had slots and pinball machines that paid of.  Since they were illegal in the first place, the bartenders, especially during the day, didn't care whether you were legally old enough to drink or not as long as you paid up front for your booze.  There was so much corruption in that town at that time (State was governed by King Faubus!)Also before the Vegas trip, I was playing blackjack and video poker down in Oklahoma and up in the Indian Casinos north of Topeka, Kansas..  But I was terribly intimidated by the casinos and action in the casinos in Las Vegas.  Talk about straw in the hair!

My very first gambling trip was to the Peppermill in  Reno.  I had help getting started on a slot machine by a very knowledgeable lady was entire trip was comped.  After the serving lady delivered my coffee and before I could finish it I'd lost over $300 bucks and swore off slot machines forever.   By far the most expensive cup of coffee I've had so far.   I had to learn some VP out of self defense.  At least the price of coffee while playing is reasonable.  2nd trip was to Vegas.  I'm still rubbernecking the place even after a few  gambling vacations under my belt.  I've had the good fortune to have been all the way from Yellow Wolf Creek to Gun Barrel City, seen 2 county fairs and a goat roping but I'm still enthralled  with Las Vegas.  Heck , I wish I was there right now watching Eduardo win big at the GVR.

My first trip to Vegas was 1981 and we stayed at the FABULOUS Imperial Palace. LOL  Couldn't sleep that first night so we were up at 5 am walking the Strip and we said..."Hey...let's go check out Circus Circus.   I hear they have free acts.  Look...it is not far!  We can see the sign from here!"Famous last words eh?  We walked and walked.  We finally made it there and never did find the darn free acts, but husband gave me a $20 and I stuck in a nickle slot and I have been a gambler ever since!

My first trip to Vegas was with my then boyfriend and the year was 1973. We stayed, ifI believe, at the Riviera Hotel. Those were the days when you wore gowns at night to go to dinner. We were there for 3 days and I cannot remember if I lost or won but it was the beginning of many many more visits. The next one did not take place until 1980 and have been going ever since and have been playing VP since 2001.

My first trip was 1981, just an overnight stay.  We had a shrimp cocktail somewhere for 50 cents, and prime rib dinner at the Maxim (sp?)  for under $5.   I was trying to figure out how to tell my Mom about why I had a fake ID that I knew I'd have to show after I won that million dollars.  Never happened. Many, many more trips back to admire and try everything.

My first was in 1973 for my 21st bday.  Package deal from Chicago, air charter and Stardust for 3 nights $79.00   The room was a cinder block affair way out back.

First night did well on Roulette and on the way back to the room my brother and I were mugged at gun point right outside of our room.  Went in and called Security.  They arrived in a very short time and took all the info.

About 20 minutes later, several guards and a suit knocked on our door and asked us to look at someone they had in the back of one of their cars.  It turned out that it was the guy !   They asked if i wanted to press charges and they took it from there.

Got our wallets and money back about two hours later plus meal comps for the rest of our stay plus they moved us to a tower room.  They also said that because we were prepaid this trip the room was on them next trip.

Been going back a least once a year since then; lately 5-6 times a year but learned to never stay in a detached room.

We went to vegas in the early 80s for a family wedding.   My sister and I spent quite a long time playing a big bertha slot.   We were so delighted with every win, or near win, that our carrying on drew a small crowd.  Our biggest win was $20, but you'd have thought we won a jackpot.   It was a great time and we have been hooked ever since.

My first trip to a casino was in 1994 the day the opened which also happened to be on my birthday.  A friend and I skipped school and rode over to the river and there was this tiny boat called the Isle of Capri.  It was jammed packed. Mostly table games and a few slots.  I played blackjack and some roulette and lost maybe $40 bucks.  My friend however won almost $300 playing craps.  He was so excited he just took the chips home with him didn't even cash them in.  The next day when I got out of school I tried to call him to see if he wanted to go again and his mom said he was gone.  Come to find out several hours later he skipped school again and drove over and gave it all back

My first taste of VP came a couple of months later when I went back with the in-laws for the great all you get eat Seafood (crableggs) buffet.  After loosing my $60 playing BJ and roulette I went to the bar and while waiting for a drink saw a guy hit quad 2's.  I put a $20 in and hit Quad Jacks on my first hand then quad 4's and VP became my game.

My first trip to Vegas was Nov 9, 1968.  It was my honeymoon.  About all we could do
was sit outside Starduust and be amazed by the sign and all it did.  I guess we did a
little gambling, but do not remember.  Here is the kicker.  Best man had come to Phoenix
via military hop from Florida.  No hops out of Phoenix, but regular out of Nellis. Sooooooo
best man rode to Vegas with us  Upon arrival we saw posters foro the last Stardust Graand
Prix.  Sooooo my lovely wife faked a bad cold and he and I went racing.  NEVER FORGOT THAT..  Wife passed away in 97, but we had awesome marriage despite the rocky start.
