Changes at L'Auberge du lac

Post by Lucky Larry »

We stayed at L'Auberge du lac for the first time in a year. Wow! The cut backs were so evident. Gone are the security guards at the elevators, extra towels, room incidentals (extra coffee packets, free water, body pillows, etc.) Welcome lowered pay tables, less personnel, and less comps. The $VP is still excellent at 99% returns but lower denominations are horrible.

larry this is what i mention about lac. The comps have really gotten weak, getting a room on the weekend is really tough, unless you make a reservation weeks in advance. The bottled water really gets my wife upset. One good thing when majito point opens thing will get loose. As far as the returns, i never win playing 1 or 5 dollar vp at lac all my hits have come at the 50 cent tier.

Lucky Larry, I notice you post about casinos in Lake Charles and Coushatta. Have you ever been to Paragon in Marksville, La or Cypress Bayou Casino/Shorty's in Charenton, La? CBC/Shorty's is in the process of building a hotel which will be connected to the casino.

Hotsauce,
Its been years since we went to Paragon-before they made all their additions. Its a long trip from Houston but we hear great things about it from friends who play there often. We've heard that Paragon has some really go pay returns.

Any info about Paragon pay tables would be helpful as we are planning a football road trip to NO in November and might try to work it in heading back.

Haven't been to the other places. Did make Amelia Belle on our last trip to N.O.

Next time you are near CBC/Shorty's do go there! I only live 12 mins away and that is my home casino. I have never been to Amelia Belle and we don't visit Paragon enough for me to know too much about it. I do know at Paragon (the bar) they did have 9/6 JOB. When we go there, that is what I play.

In September my wife and I stayed at L'Auberge for the first time in a year as well. I posted a quick blog about it for my friends in Texas to read who have not been there in awhile either. They are all fans of the casino but they don't live close enough to make it there very often.

Since then I found this forum and now I know to check it more often as Larry probably already has all the Lake Charles info my friends and I need. :) Speaking of is there a way to subscribe to a particular users posts? I'm still new on this forum and can't yet figure out how to have it alert me when someone replies to a thread I have previously replied to let alone have it alert me when a particular person posts something.

Sweet C and I made it a point to add Amelia Belle to our casino list on our last trip to New Orleans. Nice boat. We played an hour or two and checked it off our list. The new member T-shirts are nice and comfortable.
