did you enjoy the dinner as much as the royal
Ah - no. It wasn't bad, but still wanted that elusive hamburger.

For winning a royal flush you could have afforded the Royale with Cheese!!!

I'm proof that the royal is not needed to win. I've played serious VP for about three years and as I said in another thread my bankroll is up 3%. In three years of casino play I have a whopping total of one (1) uno, royals. However, I play 10 play DDB and have more quads than I can remember and for me at least that's what I shoot for. I guess you could call it good, bad luck.

I went on a cruise 3 years ago (Voyager of the Seas) and hit 3 Royals in one night (for 12k- back when they didn't take out taxes, as I understand they do now.) Also, even more bizarre, I pulled a Royal for the lady sitting next to me who had been watching me hit these. (she had 4 and she asked me to hit the draw button and BINGO!) I couldn't believe she didn't even say "thank you," let alone buy me a martini! Anyway, we bought my wife a Rolex in Grand Caymen before I had a chance to play it back. What a GREAT trip!

And by buying that Rolex, I think you'll agree it's "time" to hit another royal !!!!---CWA---

Speaking of Royals, I missed out on mine. Usually, when I go to a casino on a holiday, I hit Royals. It happened last Labor Day, and again on my birthday. But this past Memorial Day, I didn't hit. I got 4 to the royal 3 times and didn't hit. Still came out with a wad that was 150% greater than I started with. Got more than my share of Quads on 9/7 DB and 9/6 DDB (Mostly DB though).

The really most aggrivating part of missing a royal when you are 4 to it is when you have a pat hand such as a straight or flush that would be thrown away. This hurts even more when you have multi-game plays involved. It just seems that your odds are a million-1 rather than 47-1 at the time!---CWA---

I wish you guys would quit mentioning the 4RFs ...I'm now at 177 misses and counting Not quite as bad as my 200 miss streak last year.
