un friggin beleeeeeeeevaaahhhh----BULL! a 2.4 Buh b b buh BILLION dollar boondoggle right from the start...... Anyone mention (or notice) the fact that the boardwalk entrance ramp for strollers, wheelchairs and scooters/electric chairs is totally on the wrong end of the property???? Also, they need to fill the boardwalk between showboat and Revel with stuff because right now it is one big EMPTY....I mean there is NOTHING, Nada, zilch between the two properties, so there is NO reason for summer and weekend boardwalk pedestrians to walk down to Revel. But there really is one nagging thing that they will realy never overcome unless they TRULY make a effort to do so, and that is bring in real NEW business.....right now, there simply is NOT enough existing business going into AC.   They need to give a solid, tangible reason for all those people playing at the NYC slot parlors, and all those people going to Pennsylvanias casinos to start heading to Revel.....in fact all the AC properties need to do this. I doubt Revel will make it, I figure by the time Chris Christie runs for prez in 2016, this will be one of the real PROBLEMS he will face in securing the Republican ticket, because ultimately He and his administration pushed for, and made possible the completion and opening of Revel when it did, which really was NOT a good move overall for the AC casino market in general.

The only reason the entrance ramp for scooters, and wheel chairs is there. Because it's by the door and to keep them away from the automobile traffic of taxis and people checking in.
I agree DaBurglar ! !  Atlantic City better start comping more shows and other things if they want to survive. If they want people to come to AC. They better give them a reason to come.

Actually JIM, the sidewalk is already wide enough and properly structured to allow people to AVOID the traffic you mention, and it is clear they INTENDED to put a ramp where I claim they should have one but do NOT actually have one.....I have asked them inside what the F%#% is going on with that and they all just scratch their heads and say "Yes, I guess You are right, I see your point!"   Its totally hillarious and disturbing at the same time!!! But You are right about the need for more comps of all types going out to players of all types, especially the room rates they advertise during the Weekends (Fri-Sat) and during peek summer months......they should follow Vegas example since the dawn of time to keep listed room rates LOW, and then offer EVEN lower rates or comps to people once they book and show up! THE ABSOLUTE BIGGEST thing they need to change is to LOOSEN the slots and give better odds on table games, at least do this for a temporary period (like say for the next six months), ADVERTISE like hell the fact that they have loosened things up by posting this info EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE they can, I mean JUST GET THE WORD OUT!   Do this for 6 months (during which time they will still make a profit is enough people show up, which they will if potentially better gaming beckons) and then after 6 months, slowly tighten things up again, but not TOO tight, and then periodiclaly loosen a few games up from time to time.     IF YOU ASK ANY TAXICAB DRIVER in AC what the biggest complaint of gamblers in AC is, they will tell you this:    "People who come here all say that they never seem to win in AC, compared to other places like Vegas or Reno..." That has been really my gripe thru all the bombastic posts I have made about AC, that the place is really toooooo hard to win at, even VP, compared to EVERY other market I have played in......

www.nj.com/news/.../03/handicap_access_ ... ic_ci.html

The link did not  work but I think I found the article anyhow.....it is dated from March, 2011, well before Revel opened up.....either way, it is obvious  not everyone paid attention to the federal review, or if they did they ignored it, which often happens.  Casinos, and other service industry businesses, seem to follow one of two extremes:  (1)They either go WAYYYY overboard on accomodating disabled patrons buy spending (or "OVERSPENDING") on a smorgasboard of disabled utilities and aids and assistive devices (while STILL seemingly missing one or two of the most obvious, GLARING needs such as the Revel's misplaced access ramp)......OR  (2) the go the penny pincher route and only spend the absolute minimum on the most simple basic needs, and wait for specific complaints (or lawsuits) to address anything else related to disability awareness or access.    The proper approach, obviously, lies somewhere in between these two extreme, leaning slightly to the overspending extreme simply because catering to disabled guests is not only the decent morally upright thing to do, it is quite simply BUSINESS Strategy!!!!! When you think of "disabled access" and disability issues and awareness, it now encompassess a HUGE demographic, not just cripples like myself who are confined to wheelchairs.   The encompass our rapidly aging population in general, as well as any and all "normal people" who temporarily suffer an injury . And in addition to the individual people who are disabled, you must account for their families & friends whojoin them on excursions to casinos and hotels.   We are talking a lot of people and a lot of money....it seems absurd that casinos wouldnt go out of their way to attract and maintain customers with disabilities, almost like a reverse type of discrimination!!!
