Predicting Quads?

We all know that each VP draw is suppose to be an action totally independent from the rest.  However, when playing DDB it seems that at least 50% of the time quads seem to come in spurts followed by long stretches of nothing.   Has anyone had any experience in trying to take advantage of this?

If it's random, you can't take advantage of this.

But the "spurt"/"drought" issue mixed in with consistency is what a random machine is supposed to look like. You never know if you are on a beginning of a spurt or a drought if it's random. You'll notice patterns while playing a random machine, but they are never an indication of what will happen in the future.

Anyone who says they have "taken advantage of this" is either lucky when they ramp up their bets, or lying.

I agree.  I've tried all sorts of schemes and never found anything that worked better than plain dumb luck.  Some of my schemes actually made things worse.  It would be interesting to hear some of the systems that have been tried.

I assume the most common move is to ramp up the bet after a big hit. I am almost always a flat bettor. But yesterday at the casino I saw a woman hit 4 of a kind with a 10X multiplier for 2500 nickels. She immediately moved from 3 hands to 10 hands. I didn't stick around long enough to see how that went.

The problem with moving up after every quad is that most of the time you use up the profit you made in the first place so your backroll doesn't last very long.  For a while, I was playing Jacks and moved to DDB after every quad.  I hit a few nice ones but eventually figured out that I was better off not using up my profits all the time.   At the moment, I'm not tempted to move up unless I hit two quads in a very short amount of time.  Like they say, "You never know you're in a good run until it's over".   None of this works with any consistancy, but it does make the game a little more fun.
