To this day I don't get people who play JOB or DB.  I usually assume they don't know the difference or care about pay table.s.  Its DDB or even TDB for me, its the only way to get paid the way I see it.  But to each his own

I usually try a few hands of DDB when I play 3/5/10 play but unless I'm hitting I go to JOB for the better pay return and low variance. Our multi-hand 25¢/50¢/$1 machines are very limited so typically, I start out on 10 play STP without the bonus coin starting with 3-5 hands and go up according to my play results.

I would sure be disappointed if the casino folks said that they had to search the floor for the person who left their card in the machine so that they could pay them MY jackpot.

All true, and there would also be the problem of your identification (driver's license or Social Security card) not matching the Player's Card.  So I can't imagine that there would be any issue; you pay the player who hit the jackpot regardless of Player's Card.

Here's what I think might have been the reason why the attendant said what he or she did say.  Some of the casinos I play at store basic player information to make the administrative part of generating a W2-G easier.  Otherwise they have to print out a basic W2-G then write in (by hand) your personal info.  More time and effort.  My point being that they'd prefer you have your own Player's Card in there to make their own lives easier; I don't see any situation where they can require it.

The things I like about DBP (10/7) over DDB (10/6). -Higher expected return (100.17% versus 100.06%)-lower variance (28.2 versus 42.1 for ddb)-get Paid 25 for a straight versus 20 for a straight on ddb (occurs 1 out of 66 hands)-get paid 35 for a flush versus 30 for a flush on DDB (occurs 1 out of 66 hands)The things I like about DDB (10/6) over DBP (10/7)-Aces with a kicker gets paid 2000 to 1, not 800 to 1 on DBP (occurs 1 out of 16236 hands)-2,3,4s with kicker gets paid 800 to 1, not 400 to 1 on DBP(occurs 1 out of 6983 hands)I used to be a big 9/6 DDB player until I learned things about variance, returns, percentages, common occurances, and so forth. After taking some time of studying and learning DBP, I'm liking that game more and more. But when I hit aces with a kicker, it's always bitter sweet on DBP or JOB. I can see the attraction on both games. To each their own. Apples and oranges.
