Ideas to make contests more interesting

Of course 3 is better than two but I was responding to Deloradeuces who mentioned a winner without a dealt royal or 4 aces with kicker. I had to look up how that was possible, since usually someone gets the great deal. (actually, usually several players). The point is that is doesn't matter what the game is, it takes luck and great cards to win.

I know this has been discussed and thrown around many, many times but that fact that there are NO gold member exclusive contest simply boggles the mind. Why on earth could we not be given contests among ourselves - I mean it's not like we pay the money that actually RUNS your site. Oh wait, yes we do! It's so disgusting to see non gold win almost every single contest, day after day. I've been a member for over 4 years and have never even sniffed the top ten - not even once. I'm sure the non gold/gold ratio we're competing against must be 10 or 12 to 1. In general, I don't care what or how much you give non members, but it's simply unfair to not give your paying members better chances at TOC entries and gift cards. A couple of very simple ideas would be to leave the daily contests alone, then make the end of the month contest a gold exclusive. Or, simpler yet, just have two contests. One for members, one for non members. Think this is the only place I've ever seen where I open up my wallet to pay for something and the guy next door does nothing and gets basically the same thing I do. Kinda silly on my part really, makes me seriously wonder why the heck I pay you guys!!

Should've looked at previous posts better...found the reason. Still make contests for gold members only offering only pride and the excitement of winning as the prize. With the very,very small amounts of "cash" we're talking about here, I doubt many people actually play here trying to get rich - we go to real casinos for that. It's all about the thrill of victory - not the agony of defeat!!

I think I’ve had a change of heart.  I was getting ready to compose one last post on the forum voicing my objection to the change in the daily contest when I noticed something odd.  October 23rd’s winner wasn’t dealt a winner, but had held three cards and drew the winning hand.  Could some degree of skill be involved after all?After seeing this I checked the other winners for this month and found that 7 out of 22 winners (one game was multi-strike and there is no way to see which cards were held on the fourth hand) weren’t dealt winners but had to make a correct hold first.  The hold may have been obvious, but at least it shows me that it’s not all luck, which is what attracted me to video poker in the first place.Thus, instead of being resistant to the change I’ve decided to embrace it.

Have the monthly contests start earlier in the day so that those of us on the east coast and midwest don't have to wait so long to begin competing.I too would like to see the daily contests start earlier.  Living in the Eastern Time Zone makes it difficult to get five games in (let alone eight) each day.  Most of my computer time is spent early in the morning.  I’m sometimes up as early as 4:00 a.m. and it’s nice to be able to relax by playing a few games in the monthly contest.  I’m retired and I can’t imagine how anyone still working is able to get their daily games completed.Starting early might also benefit the website.  This would allow more time to use the other portions of the site (such as Training Mode) that I just don’t have time for.  That might be enough to get me to upgrade to a Gold Membership.

WVRadar makes a great point about the contests starting earlier. It is actually a disadvantage to play early, but for $50 I am not going to alter my work schedule and familial duties around it!

A 7AM ET starting time would be wonderful. Even 8AM would be acceptable.
