I sure like the old way better. If I walked into a casino and they only had one kind of video poker game, that is , they had 2 or 3 hundred machines and they were all say jacks or better , I would turn around a leave and not return. It is no fun with just one choice or should I say no choice, just one game. With say ten games it is just as fair or even playing field for anyone playing. They can chose the game they want just as anyone else. What is not fair about that? This is just plain dumb. I'll bet if you went out to eat and the place you went to only had grilled cheese one night and only burgers one night an only turkey one night, they would not be open long! Then the guy running the place said it is so it would be fair for everyone, would that even sound right?
The old format for daily contests was much better.  After day 7 last month, I discontinued plying the daily contests.  I still question the validity and results of the "vote" or whatever it was that was taken that have left us with daily contests with no freedom to decide which game we want to play.
Yes, you have freedom to decide. You either play or DON'T play the daily contest...simple as that.

Itsalock I've been saying that same thing ever since the complaining began and it appears that people would rather moan and complain than just do the obvious and not play the contests that they do not care for.
The first month I participated in the daily contests I tied for 10th place.  I really liked the daily contests the way they were..  If they ever return to their previous format I will begin to compete in them again.
So basically what you are saying here is that you are mad that you haven't scored in the top 10 of a daily contest since? Now you are stomping your feet hoping to persuade someone to switch contests back to the old format? If its a dead issue as far as you are concerned then why are you continuing to bring it up?
I'm not sure but I think chattycattty is referiing to the Winner's Challenge.  I was just beginning to develop the strategy for attaining a lot of Winner's Challenge points by playing the lower volatility games, not even worrying about winning the Daily Contest, since you had to be dealt a winner.  I usually stayed with the low volatility game like Jacks or Better, not having been smart enough to switch to another game after reaching the points needed. That being said, I'm beginning to like the new format of the Daily Contest, seeing that a lot of the winners are actually having to hold cards and draw the winning hand instead of being dealt one.

We are all entitled to our opinion.  I did not realize that so many of you are so sensitive about the new daily contest.  I have every right to voice my displeasure as all of you do to extol the virtues and benefits of the new daily contests.  I was hoping that there was enough of us that enjoyed the contest the way it used to be.

I do not appreciate the character assassinations Tedlark.  I have never made a derogatory comment towards anyone on this forum and I would suggest that you keep your little comments to yourself.

I have tried to be active and bring what I feel are good ideas to this discussion.

Let me be perfectly clear; I do not care what format the daily contest is in, whether it be the old style or the newer version. If I do not like the contest I do not play. Not once did I voice my opinion if I liked the new contest or not, what is so difficult about not playing a contest if you don't like it?

As for comments about character assasinations, that is rich coming from someone who is questioning the validity of the vote result used to reshape the daily contests. As also mentioned, you have the right to voice your displeasure and I also have the right to voice my perspective too, chattycatty. So you and I both know what you can do with your suggestion to me that I keep my "little comments" to myself. I suggest that you just be adult and either play the contests in the format which they are delivered or don't play the contests in the format which they are delivered, it's really quite simple.

There you go again Tedlark. Trying to be cute and witty at someone else's expense.  The title of this thread is bring back the old way.  The original poster on this thread has some valid points.  There are probably only about 50 people actively posting on this forum.  I think I can see why. People like you trying to bully and intimidate them.  It is no wonder why more people don't  participate on this forum.

If you read the original post that started this thread you will see that the word contest wasn't even mentioned. Webman then responded to the post by saying that there were a myriad of game choices on this site for a person to chose from and this was the right response.

You were the first to bring the daily contests into this thread and now you call me a bully or intimidator because you cannot understand my point (and others have the same outlook) stressing that if a person doesn't like a particular daily contest then, don't play it. You keep bringing up your dissatisfaction with the new daily contest format even after a poll was taken and just because the vote did not go your way you are mad. If you review some of the posts you have made in the forum not only have I responded in kind but I have also supported them too. Now you call me a bully and intimidator when you are trying to bully and intimidate to get the daily contest format to change to a way that you like. I have not changed my position at all about the daily contests because ultimately I don't come to this site specifically for the contests and I wouldn't lose any sleep at all if the contests were eliminated totally.

Apparently name calling is easier for you to do than accepting the simple logic of not playing a contest if you don't like it. You have allready stated that you feel that the vote was rigged and if you feel this way then it should be even more reason for you not to play the contests.
